Possible bug in freeze fix

I equipped an outfit, and later got armor that I like better than the outfit. When I turn off the outfit, I see the armor. But if I travel or get into a battle, the outfit comes back. I check Character, and outfit is still not selected, even though the outfit is showing.
I read the freeze fix page, and I know some things have been turned off. Could this be related to the fix?
