Let's talk about treasure. ZoS: how about, next update, we add a chance for jewelry platings to drop in treasure map chests and a chance for grains in regular treasure chests.

I understand the need to maintain a jewelry crafting grind that doesn't undermine the value of end game content. I don't think it's wildly unreasonable as is, and wouldn't want to over-tweak the current system. That being said, I can't imagine that the current state of treasure maps/chests is what the devs intended.

Treasure maps are literally the only drop that I won't pick up for any reason. Garbage. When I see an open world master chest, I always get all excited and try to get it open before anyone else finds it. And then I'm like "Oh. Lighting Staff of Syvarra's Scales. Right." What is the average value of a treasure chest, 200 gold? It's more valuable to open an urn or a backpack. Make treasure chests better than spittoons ZoS!

Unrelated additional suggestion for next patch: remove the word "unusually" from long load screens. Cause, let's be honest.

Half the time I crack a master chest I get exactly what an advanced chest would give. I’d rather have master chests be 1000x more rare but ALWAYS have something amazing or legendary inside. Even with treasure hunter master chests are a joke.

That Syvarra gear is pretty good in the right build.

Anyway, ZOS sees all the numbers and they see how many JC Mats are flowing and being used. If they feel the amounts are just right, there will be no changes. If they are not they will tweak the existing source rates.

Of course I dont agree that the current rate is acceptable. I have resigned myself that it will be a year or so before I make a set of Purple Julianos.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Normal treasure chest should drop a random treasure map grain! You can combine 10 treasure map grains for one treasure map. The treasure chests from treasure maps have a chance to drop grand treasure tokens. Combine 50 of these to maybe get a grand treasure map. If you find the grand treasure you get a chance to get a chance to instantly win the game.

That's already there. I've gotten 10 platinum bars for heavy sacks.

Heavy sacks are already awesome with the 10 Kutas jackpot. There's a mini game to open chests and they're still garbage. I also think chests in Imperial City/Sewers should be more valuable than other chests because you're at legitimate risk when opening them.

Normal treasure chest should drop a random treasure map piece of 50 total maps. Each map consists of 10 pieces. Once all 10 pieces are acquired, you must take them to a mage guild and convert them to one Legendary Jewelry Map, costing 500k gold. Once the LJM is unlocked, you will obtain 1 of 10 keys to unlock the Ultimate Master Jewel Coffer to claim your prize of 10 grains of pewter.

You buy a crown token from the crown store which lets you buy a crown chest that may contain a fragment of a treasure map. When you collect 150 fragments you buy a crown elixir for 2,500 crowns which glues the treasure map together. The treasure map gives you a chance of finding a chest containing one crown soul gem.

Isn't it pathetic we joke about the grind, because the real one is so very, very horrible.

Ugh. I'm just trying to level to 50. After that, I couldn't care less about actually crafting the stuff.

I've been doing just fine with purple for 4 years. Gold won't make me better at the game I still suck at.

Nah. A viable budget build is 40k at most. Probably cheaper.

Prices have probably come down on PC... Xbox NA purple plating is 30k minimum in guild stores.

I just did a quick math about costs of crafting 3 purple jewelries.

    1 Jewelry = 2 green + 3 blue + 4 purple upgrade materials, 3 jewelries = 6 green + 9 blue + 12 purple upgrade materials.

And I use TTC to check the cheapest upgrade for green, blue and purple for reference.

1 purple = 15k and you need 12 to upgrade all 3 jewelries, so it would be 180k for upgrading all of 3 pieces jewelries.

1 blue = (Just let you know, there's 1 player list blue plating for 30 gold each, but I think that's just someone trolling and scan their guild store, then try to screwed up their guild), the reasonable price would be 2.3k ea and you need 9 blue, so it will be 2.3k * 9 = 20.7k

    1 green = 1.1k, so that would be 1.1k*6 = 6.6k

And this is only upgrade materials, let's take a look at how many platinum ounce you need for 3 jewelries here. You need 2 ring (200 ounces) + 1 necklace (150 ounces) = 350 ounce for cp 160 jewelries. The cheapest unit price I found is 15 ea, so that would be 15*350 = 5250 gold

    Then let's sum it up, it would be 180k (purple) + 20.7k (bloe) + 6.6k (green) + 5.2k (platinum ounce) = 212.5k

So, 40k simply won't be enough if you want to craft 3 jewelries. Unless I've been misunderstoond what he meant tho. Like he meant you can simply buy purple jewelry dropped set and it only cost you less than 40k budget, then I'm totally agree with him.

Ya I was just meaning for crafted jewelry, purpling it can be a grind. Obviously finding purple jewelry in overland/dungeon sets isn't that bad.
