I’m preparing myself to use skill points in crafting in the near future. Do you recommend sticking with provisioning, alchemy, clothing, and woodworking for a high elf sorcerer ? Any feedback with what people use who are using an altmer.
You will eventually have enough skill points for all the professions if you want them all. If you're looking for what to prioritize, I'd say the equipment crafts (blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking) followed by alchemy and enchanting. You can do without provisioning if skill points are tight as every food you would need can just be bought easily enough. You can of course just buy your potions and enchants as well, but they carry a moderate cost and are just easier to take care of yourself if you can.
At the very least, do level up the professions as you go. Deconstruct gear you aren't using and any glyphs you find. Even if you spend no points right now, you can sit at level 50 in case you ever do need the skill. As far as jewelry crafting is concerned, I wouldn't worry much about it. Do start trait research on all professions as that will be useful later on as well.
Thank you guys. I’m looking into writs now for first time as a new player and see that Vulkhel Guard has quests for beginnnef writs and they offer inspiration points for crafting as well. I hear they can be done once per day, is that a good route as well to level up crafting aside from deconstructing everything?
