Clipped wing gryphon mount?

a small gryphon who sadly had their wings clipped, rendering them much more docile and thus rideable?

Actually, they could just say that gryphons that small can't fly while carrying a rider.

They don't have to say anything. Just make griffin mounts that run or float a little above ground and call it a day. Who cares what the backstory that explains the lack of flight of a mythical creature in a video game is? Geez. Just release a griffin mount for 8 trillion crowns that can only be purchased for an hour in the middle of a Tuesday...or, better yet, lock it behind scam crates and then go take a long swim in your pool full of gold coins like Scrooge McDuck.
