Are treasure maps worth storing?

I have like 20 of them and they just seem to take up bank and inventory space, are they worth keeping and finding all the hidden treasures? Do they sell for much on guild stores?

Only vvardenfell and Cyro are really worth anything in guild stores, maybe summerset too since it's new but idk. The rest are really only useful for getting some jewelry to decon imo

They're worth using when you can. I wouldn't recommend holding off on them too long.

If you're on PC, there's several add ons that will mark them on your map for you. I use Map Pins.

Found treasure maps... Some I save, some I don't; depends on location. CE treasure maps I highly suggest deleting.

I personally only care for Vvardenfell and Summerset maps for the chance at motif pages. Cyrodiil as well, but the alliance motifs aren't really profitable nowadays...

The others... sometimes if I'm bored

Yes, the jewellery is welcome for decon but in the time it takes to drop a couple of rings/necklaces you can easily get 6 or 7 on the Alik'r Desert dolmen circuit!

The maps themselves are nothing special, but you can nab sone neat stuff for sale in guild stores - equipment pieces that are in higher demand and/or harder to get (jewelry in dolmen-less regions for example), though that is pretty much a "luck of the draw" thing. And yes, also not that sale-able jewelry to decon.

Agreed. Deshaan, Bangkori, Malabal Tor, Auridon. Basically any zone with sought after gear. You have a chance at getting some high value content and can flip a 200 gold map into thousands or 10s of thousands.

I like to buy a bunch of maps for a zone when I am farming for a specific set. Provides the opportunity to cut down on some time by just farming the treasure chests.

I personally like doing the treasure maps. Sometimes I don't get much out of them but I find it fun going to and seeing areas I probably wouldn't go to otherwise.

As above, it depends on the zone and what drops there.

CE maps are not worth it unless you want an excuse to explore, as they only drop non set stuff.

I generally sell mine for around 100 gold.

Yes. Even if all you got out of them was trash gear, you'd still end up with at least 300 gold from vendoring that.
As it is, you will always get a set piece, a glyph, a soul gem and gold, along with trash items to decon or vendor.

Of course, as others said, some sets are more valuable than others when selling at guild traders.

I keep all of mine and have whatever character is working on the "loot 1000 chests" achievement look for them.

Sell them now, while jewelry is still riding high. That is really the only thing they yield of substantial value though a few, such as malabar tor, are in zones with sets that have weapons that sell high and so might be worth doing for a chance of a 50k weapon.

I tend to group them with surveys, has addon who highlight all, rare to find anything useful however.

Treasure maps aren’t worth it imo because they give about the same thing as a regular chest which only takes about 30 seconds to find. You’d think the contents of the treasures would be more worthwhile than the trash they give..

It would be nice if they rewarded legendary items are were not as common.

Personally I do not like Treasure Maps. For me they are hard to track down sometimes even with a laid out map from the internet. I usually end up wasting more time than I want to looking for the chest and then get nothing really worth while for my effort. Over the years have just deleted them ASAP.

They respawn if you have a second map but you have to run away a bit and come back. I think it really comes down to line of site and not necessarily distance. Once you break it and have the second map in your inventory, it should respawn. For example, I think it is map 2 in Malabal Tor that allows you to run around the small island real quick for the respawn. I like to stack multiple of the same map in my mail and just pull them out one at a time and farm the same location over and over.

nope, none of them are 'worthless' all have a bit of gold, gear maybe another map.

edit to add: what about the mats you can pick up on the way?

I was going to mention that I do some farming on the way there. I remember running across 3 chests on the way to one. I'm always on a lookout for jewelrycrafting nodes too. The treasure map needs to be part of a general farming run to not feel pointless.
