Careful what you wish for.

Often times, you had to complete a separate difficulty level for content just to receive the legendary / relic drops.
So I guess the structure of the game is just too different from traditional MMOs. Because you can just throw money at something to upgrade it to gold, they can't make gold stat gain too high. Otherwise, you'd have the trade barons doing the most dps in content, because they can afford to upgrade everything.
UNLESS they changed the way drops work so that vet trials dropped full sets of gold gear. Wait, do vet trials already work that way? I've only ever heard gold rings being talked about, and I've only ever done normal trails. Point being, if vet trials dropped gold gear, I can see this working as a system. Otherwise it'd give wealthy players a distinct advantage.

I believe that if we upgrade our gear from Purple to Gold, ESPECIALLY IN THE CASE OF JEWELRY, we should get a significantly higher boost to the gear's stats.
If the cost remains as high as it is, the increase in stats should be raised to match it.
Gold weapons is an major effect because of weapon / spell power boost, armor an jewelry is an minor one.DuskMarine wrote: »gold is alot better than purple in damage. especially on weapons.
Maybe not armor, but jewelry for sure.
Jewelry improvement mats cost 10x that of anything else, and yet gold jewels give pretty much nothing in actual improvement.
Either the improvement mats need to be reworked, or the gold jewelry stats need to be reworked.
Gold upgrades have always been underwhelming. Been that way since beta. Dont see them changing that now.
What has always been puzzling to me, other than weapons, is why anyone feels the need to go past Purple for gear or jewelry.
