Hi, I recently purchased Summerset about 1 month ago, and I leveled a Templar to 160CP. I know Templars are known for their healing, but not so much for damage/pvp.

I want to make a new character, and I'm torn between the DK and Nightblade. I always watch videos on YT for PvP, and a lot of it seems pretty cool, and fun. I'm leaning towards a Stamina NB, using a 2h and a Bow. But also, the DK looks really cool, and half of the reason why Im considering one is the spell effects, and fire, and all the jazz looks pretty cool.

So as a semi-new player, that has a Magicka Templar already (healing) what should make next character be? Nightblade or DK? and what specialization? Magicka NB,DK or Stam NB,DK?

You mentioned PvP but didn't expressly say you were building a PvP character. Is this going to be a dedicated PvP toon, or something that you'll be using for solo play while dabbling with PvP? Also, do you prefer melee or ranged combat. Magicka characters are typically ranged while Stamina lends itself to melee, an exception being the MagDK who has to get up close for a few skills.

I want this toon I make to be my "introduction" character for PvP. To get my feet wet, but also be able to play it for PvE. But all in all, generally I would like this toon to be my PvP character.

Depends on your own preferences really. Ultimately, you’ll probably just have to try both eventually and see which you prefer. Nightblades and DKs can both do quite well in pvp, but their play styles tend to be much different.

Nightblades can do a lot of damage in a fairly short amount of time if you play them right, but they are also usually easier to kill when they’re out in the open. A DK will have more survivabilty due to their several defensive abilities, and they can also dish out a pretty decent amount of damage. Whether you go mag or stam is up to you, but I personally prefer stam for both NB and DK.

Also, if you’re planning on starting pvp in Cyrodiil, then make sure that you enter the Below Level 50 Campaign, rather than the other three. If you’re on PC NA, feel free to message me or add me as a friend if you want some help getting into pvp. My in game handle is @Stovah135

Stamina nightblade= high burst damage, but very squishy...if they dont get their combo off quick enough they will generally die easily.

Magicka nightblade=lower burst damage, but higher sustained damage...does well against most things other than DKs and better survivability than stamina nightblades because its a magicka class

Stamina DK= Good burst damage, higher survivability than a stamina nightblade, but less damage

Magicka DK= Lower burst damage, but good sustained damage and high survivability due to wings and access to magicka heals...improved further through the use of heavy armor, at the cost of regen and crit

    or...

Mag Sorc...good sustained damage, best mobility, and access to best shields in game, and good heals but lower burst damage and currently getting wrecked by Sloads being the flavor of the month.

Oh yeah, that darkened death screen and horse riding simulator look like loads of fun...

So just because you don't like Cyrodiil, that means no one else can try it? Oh okay then, I guess that makes sense
