Crown crate item gifting

So, why cant we gift items we get for gems? I have some gems and would like to gift a mount to my bf but seems the option is greyed out (even tho I though it was not before?) @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Is this bug or does this option come later into the season?
Magicka sorcerer from start until the end. Always. Through the good times and the bad, even now when its probably saddest PvE dps it has ever been.
Even as an owner of one radiant apex mounts I am against radiant apex mounts and anything thats not obtainable by direct purchase.

    If you are talking about crate gems and crate items. I don't think they were never ment as and never were gift able. Just the regular store crown items.

    I am going to guess that it's because of people wanting to sell them for ingame gold? Could cause a headache for customer support when peoples "deals" don't go to plan.

    I saw someone on ps4 saying he wanted to sell any of the Psijic mounts.. ofc I told them that wasn't possible.

    Also it would lessen the drive for some people to buy many many crates to get that one item they want if they can just have someone else give it to them outright without RNG. Save the is it safe to trade with this player for gold, scam wise.
    A crate not sold is no money for ZoS, and peoples gems they already gotten money for basically if not from free crates, so I doubt they want to make it into something people can save spending money on and still get it without gamble. And there is the can of worms of people starting to complain that why can I gift an item bought with gems but not the same item when gotten out of a crate.
