Would pvp be better without damage proc sets and poisons.

This is what leads to the most cheese, the most imbalance, and the most anger among pvp players in my experience. I think the health of pvp would be improved without poisons, damage proc sets and possibly even cp. The entire proc set idea is out of hand and I'm having trouble thinking of many sets at all without them. BUT image pvp without it and how it would allow the skill of players win the fights. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, but a guy can wish for something he want, even if it falls on deaf ears

Any thoughts?

I don't think that's true, just that it's the most visible element.

There is a huge skill gap in ESO, between new and veteran players. Even if you're somewhere up the scale, you can still get curb stomped by someone well above you without warning. Like I said, Poisons and Proc sets are the most visible example of this, but even without them, the underlying issues would remain, and we'd be back to the the, "animation canceling is cheating," and "how did they gank me from full health to dead in two seconds?" Threads from yesteryear.

Personally, I've tried No CP PVP and didn't care for it, I've played since before poisons and haven't noticed a huge difference, and generally don't have a big problem with damage proc sets - at least nothing where I died to a proc set but wouldn't have died to player skills regardless.

Then again, I play for objectives on PC/NA Vivec, often with an organized raid, so I certainly understand that others will have other thoughts about poisons, proc sets, and No CP PVP.

PvP was significantly better in the time before Poisons existed and damage proc sets had very little presence/prevalence.

Does that mean Poisons and Proc Sets should not exist at all? Absolutely not. Wrobel has simply done a horrendous job implementing them so that they literally work against solo players as much as possible. Gg PvP population.

Not to mention the design itself of the Proc sets are just outright BORING in nearly all cases. X% chance to deal X Damage every X seconds. You just get a free Proc every 10sec and go have fun now lol. Like c’mon. Idc if the Devs are uncreative - just copy what other games do that have already done a great job at it.

actually, i thing some sets just need to be adjusted, sets like skoria and viper are fine but there are more that need some rework

Going back to the ol' every mag build uses Juliannos and Seducer?

Or even further back when Martial Knowledge was BiS?

Nah, boring AF then, even worse to only have stat sticks again

To me, the whole game would be better off without proc sets.

It would be different. Better is a matter of opinion. Here in the forums you will not get an idea of the overall opinion of the player base. Not even the forum users as a hole since many wont bother to vote.

I believe that balancing out proc sets is difficult, but things like Skoria or Selene for example aren't that toxic and give ways to tankier characters to deal some damage. I'd say that removing them altogether might be excessive (though it would be interesting to see, perhaps in PTS first).

Poisons... Well, I am currently using double dot poisons and they are often really helpful for my purposes. I wouldn't say all poisons are a problem, some of them allow for greater build customization and to try out things you would never be able to do with your class alone (Ultimate cost increase for X seconds). If you refer to the increase cost poisons only, then yes. Those need some fine tuning. The others however are fine by me, a good way to increase a layer of customization to one's build.
