Why can't some items be transferred through the bank?

I want to delete a character to create a new character because I am at the 15 character limit. The character I want to delete has about 25 uncracked transmute geodes, a bunch of crown XP scrolls & so forth, that I cannot transfer into my bank before I delete the character. Granted some of these items say "Character bound" but the geodes just say "Bound"... so why can't they go into my bank?
What is the reason for character bound items anyway? I can see why the game has BoP items to encourage players to get the items themselves rather than purchasing them... but why character bound? It just seems an impediment to deleting an unused character. Anyone know why? WHY!?

static_recharge✭✭✭✭Some of them are to prevent abuse of the level up rewards, so that people don't keep making new characters for the free stuff to give to their other characters. Others are level related like the undaunted keys. The item from the undaunted chest is the level of the character at the time of opening. Lastly, since the beginning of the game, you can't put containers in the bank. Not 100% clear on the reason for this myself but it's been there from the start. Cheers for the tip!... unfortunately it doesn't work for the geodes. They won't transfer to the Guild bank either.
I guess I am just going to have to do a bunch of transmutes till my transmute stones are depleted & then crack all the stored geodes. Whatever is left is just going to have to be deleted along with the character. I hate to waste stuff! but thems the breaks!

Think of it this way..if you had that many uncracked geodes then you really didn't need them for transmute.
I keep set gear I loot if I may want to try it in the future. When I get to 150/200 I transmute a piece ..because I never seem to loot the good traits
