Crown Store to Crown Crate Recycling - Why?

Just wondering why the Crown Store items that have been removed (phased out at a cheaper Crowns ‘sale’ price) are now showing up in Crown Crates.

Is this laziness, a money grab or did ZeniMax think we wouldn’t notice?

it’s always a money grab. They said that they have to remove old items to make room for new items. Their digital shelf is apparently of finite space. They said that rng boxes are a means to give people a chance for the items they may have missed in a fun and fair way. Industry bs.

Bummer, thought that might be the case but there was a teeny bit of hope it was something else.

    Thanks.

"Crown Crates include new and exclusive items, as well as some items you might have missed in previous limited time offers."

Most older items are going to be slowly re-categorized as part of a crate season so there are a few choices from each possible category instead of an overwhelming variety. We don't need 17 horse skins in the store. People who see a lot of variants of the same item generally wind up getting indecisive and not purchasing one. Which in the case of crowns, can cause further devaluation as people sit on increasing amounts of the currency with no appetite to spend it.

Call that a money grab if you want. But once you have crowns to spend it's not really about money anymore but rather to get you to actually use those crowns.

I can understand if you’ve missed an item, getting a chance for it is great. However, the items I’m noticing in the crates weren’t actually limited time. They’ve been long term items that were phased out, pets and costumes primarily.

I’d be okay with all limited time, but long term items that were phased out just seems lazy to me.

Regardless I love the game and if there’s something in the crates I can buy from my free crate gems, I definitely will.

    Just a little disappointed.
