    Okay. Clear up that space. Get a larger drive. The update will not get smaller.

    Since a patch came out today I think it is clear what you are talking about. If it is requiring 80gb then it is requiring 80 gb.

    Cycle your PS4 and try again if you think it will have different requirements. Otherwise clear up the space and more on.

    thanks for rewording the last answer but, why would it require me to download over 80bgs when others are reporting 1.29 gbs thats a massive discrepancy????? what gives???

    You will not be getting the answer to that question.

    then why are you even commenting on my post? I had to delete 2 games to download the update and when it came up it went back to saying 1.29 like everyone elses.

    It's to do with the way updates are done on PS4 - and why the update process on PS4 is so glacially slow (today's update took seconds to download and 20-30 minutes to apply, for example).

    The PS4 basically makes a copy of the game data, applies the patch to it (slowwwwwwly) and then copies that data back to the game folder.

    It's impossible to see the actual files used for PS4, but I'm guessing ESO uses a "one big file" data file that needs to be physically moved back and forth and patched, hence needing a lot of extra space and a ton of time (since it all happens on the same mechanical hard drive).

    Note that not ALL games on PS4 take this long to patch of need this much space; some, like God of War, patch in seconds regardless of the size of the download.

    I'm more curious, really, about why the PS4 version of ESO is now 104 GB big, while the PC one is only 67 GB... ;)

    @Audrena

    That is a significant difference. According to Windows 7 Pro NTFS on my PC, the content of D:\Program Files (x86)\ The Elder Scrolls occupies 67.6 GB (72,588,201,984 bytes) of the SSD on which the game is installed.

    Note: the forum editor evidently interprets the upper case letter D followed by a colon (:) as an "emote". Go figure.
