PvE and PvP NB Build?

I’ve noticed that all the builds created by streamers are all vastly different with gear and skills when it comes to playing PvE and PvP, but was wondering if there were any builds out there that could be used for both? I don’t want to have a bunch of different gear sets to switch between or having to change my skills every time I want to play PvE or PvP content.

You will still have to change your skills between pvp and pve but you can use the same gear.

Hundings + Spriggans for gear... its good in PVP and its fine for PVE. (Velidreth + Kr'aghs for monster sets or full selenes or full velidreth whatever you prefer). Two fanged strike is better than Spriggans in PVE but it falls off to easily PVP. Masters bow is very good in PVP and worse than Maelstrom in PVE but not terrible... But there is one big problem PVP uses impenetrable and PVE uses Divines, impenetrable is useless in PVE. If you want to use Divines in PVP, you have to be a ganker, you have to never get into a fair fight because you'll get crit and die.

You have to swap your skills because PVE is reliant on Endless Hail and Caltrops for the vast majority of your damage but ground targeted skills in PVP are unreliable. In PVP you need gap closers like ambush, in PVE they are useless.It doesn't take long to swap over your skills.

Having said all that i am just too lazy to swap over my gear so I am running around with Clever Alchemist and Spriggans in dungeons... I pop a potion against bosses and don't bother against trash. Another ganking (and therefore divines) set up uses Archer's mind, and critical damage is very important in PVE so that could also work but the sneaking invisible stuff is flavour text.

I was afraid of that. ZoS refuses to separate PvE and PvP because they want players to be able to jump between the two, yet you can’t really just jump between the two at all. Currently I can only follow large zergs and offer support by making it rain arrows at a distance. While that strategy has helped me to quickly unlock vigor and caltrops, it is getting a bit boring.

@Tholian1 hi. I use my pvp build to complete vma no death and runs over 500k points, I only changed a couple of skills that I don't need in pve. You dont need a respec to do that or change gear.

Players are mostly interested in optimized builds that is why those are what most content creators put out. That does not mean it is not possible to do both.

You will be more optimized if you go for either pure pve or pvp yes, but in pve that is only needed for score runs. And in pvp if you want to feel you have the most optimized gear to do your best.

Simply put, if you build for both, you will be mediocre at best with either.
