So have you incorporated Psijic skills into your PvP kit?

Hello all,

Last night I completed the Psijic quest line (takes about 4-5 hrs with charging maneuver/max mount) and started experimenting with some of the skills on my PvP magblade. Below is my perspective.

Time Freeze - Pretty solid in keep defense. I've seen some people use it in 1v1, but that feels a bit clunky and does not work for my build.
Imbue Weapon - I have not played with this yet, but it seems like it may be a nice addition to my burst setup (concealed weapon / incap strike + caluurion)
Accelerate - This fits perfectly into my playstyle, as the 10% critical bonus is noticeable and I am constantly running at ~+30-50% speed from concealed wep or major expedition and can choose when I crit. I chose the morph with a cast time.
Mend Wounds - Haven't used it.
Meditate - Awesome skill. I run very little sustain but buffed have ~24K defenses. This skill keeps me topped off and allows me to run away and regain my resources before I engage again. Fits my playstyle perfectly next to accelerate. The passive that gives you major protection when channeling is key here.

FWIW, I run a pretty ganky speed build with no sustain - Sloads/Caluurion/Valkyn. 3x swift jewelry has me running at 52% speed stealthed. Bars:
Destro: Swallow soul, Destructive reach, Concealed Weapon, Assassins Will, Dark Cloak
Resto: Channeled Acceleration, Meditate, Ward, Siphoning Attacks, Blur

The passive that generates a 5k shield when blocking is really useful, as well. I find that I'll get overwhelmed much less quickly upon switching to my resto bar because of the shield.

This is all No-CP feedback.

Thoughts?

Freeze Time, the instant cast morph of Time Freeze, is my ish in PVP. It requires a bit of knowledge about common battlefield patterns but it’s got a lot of uses. It’s a bit lackluster 1 on 1, but even then, if you can follow it up with an ultimate burst it can work well.

Have only completed on my main who is mostly PVE. But I have some plans for Time Freeze on my magplar. And I also have some evil machinations for Undo on a build.

Race against time and undo made it into my bars.

The rest, while useful, were too niche or clunky to justify their use in PvP.

Time freeze is nice in stack in flag moments and prepping ulti dumps. Also good for LOS humpers.

Tried to use the stam imbue weapon with a bow to make a spammable. Found it clunky. Never realized how fine the line is between LA and MA were and on my NB, I have a habit of trying to make sure it goes for grim focus and lingering just a hair too long on the button I guess.

I also use Race Against Time (I think that's the name..). The major exp + sprint cost reduction has already saved me a ton of times on my medium armor stamDK - not to mention let me hit those f a t l e a p s

    On my Warden healer:

    - Borrowed Time: I have a flex spot on my front bar, and if I'm not using Deep Fissure or Frozen Device, I use this skill
    - Symbiosis: been experimenting a bit with it. It's pretty good in small groups, not so much in big ones
    - Precognition: when it works that is :p

I was wondering if anyone was using Symbiosis. Would be great for like a 2 person team also.

I just wish it was only active on the bar the skill was on. With the 3 second activation time (though instant deactivation) it can be a little clunky to use for a damage/healing "hybrid" type setup, though may work well on a full fledged, dedicated healer.

I personally use Elemental Weapon on Magicka Warden (sometimes swapping in Cliff Racer, but the delay on it is horrible for trying to finish people off), and Deep Thoughts on both the Warden and Magicka Sorcerer; the Stamina return in Battlegrounds can be really clutch sometimes. That said, it really needs to not cancel itself if you hit enter to start typing something to your team...I mean, come on.

Time Stop can also be situationally useful, even in some 1v1 scenarios (here's looking at you, dodge roll spammers), but I'm finding it hard to fit on my bars. Perhaps if the Ancient Knowledge passive only required a Destruction Staff to be equipped, like all other, similar passives, I'd try swapping out Destructive Clench for a bit. But, since you need a Destruction Staff ability slotted in order to get that +8% damage, I just can't justify the switch.

The Ultimate can be pretty nice as well, but it's another substantial opportunity cost for my setups.

Using channeled acceleration on my sniper/archer for that critdamage and speedbuff.

Meditate/Deep Thoughts (usually after LOS or cloaking away) to regain resources, because my sustain is nonexistant.

I do not have a single melee skill on my 2h bar which is only for buffs, that is where I could fit those skills in

I played around with time freeze and race against time but the most useful skill imo is meditation. If Im cc immune I can just meditate in someones face wait for my ressources to go up while they can't out dps the heal because I have both minor and major dmg reduction buffs active. I had some good laughs with that skill

While it is obnoxious to die from proc sets, they do put you at a disadvantage vs good players. I have a dramatically easier time 1vx/1v1 with amberplasm/shacklebreaker/troll king, but my AP/hour is much higher with my guaranteed ~20K in 2 seconds :).

I'm actually debating this on my melee MagBlade. Do you like it?

I'm finding Elemental Weapon a bit too...clunky to use, but if you have some tips I'm all ears.

I have never liked CW and I use Dark Cloak so the passive would be useless anyway. Sound's weird for some people but melee magNB without stealth is possible.. :D

    Define clunky to use please.
