I am playing on PC NA if this makes a difference or not. I don't think it does though. I have a mod that tells me where the quests are. I usually turn them off but turned it on since I wanted to make sure that I completed all quests in Auridon. I don't see any black quests to be done except for the Thieves quest. Can't remember if her name is Quenn or something like that. So if I am correct, that means I have no more quests to do in Auridon except for the Skull and Crossbones that are too strong for me.

So if I am correct and there is no more quests to do, should I go onto Grathwood and start doing those quests that I passed buy or should I go to Morrowind and do those quests or would it be a good idea to go to Summerset and start doing some of those quests?

I am only doing PvE and since it seemed I have been playing the game wrong for 4 years, by restarting and deleting characters I just want to make sure I am doing it sort of properly and not totally wrong.

Did you complete the alliance story in Auridon? As far as I remember, it leads you to Grahtwood via a boat. You definitely should continue there for the sake of story progression (that's where I am currently with my Altmer Templar after I completed the Auridon quests as well).

You could go to Morrowind, yes, but you should think of Morrowind - Clockwork City - Summerset as three pieces in a trilogy (The Daedric Wars), while the alliance zones are part of another (the Soulburst).

I highly recommend this thread I've read on the forum a few days ago: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/413807/what-order-should-i-do-esos-story-arcs-a-guide

you can do both you know?

go to grahtwood and have a look around then pop to vvardenfell and see what that is like. try a bit of summerset.

it really is up to you how you do it.

I think I did. How do I tell if I have or not? Thank you for the link going to read it now.

That is good to know. Thank you. I thought I might be missing out if I did a bit of everything like I was planning to do.

Did you get to Firsthold and
    killed High Kinlady Estre?

The quest is called 'Sever All Ties' and after you complete it you get the 'The Great Tree' quest which gives you indications to talk to Captain Jimila (the Khajiit captain that you also meet on Khenarthi's Roost). From there she will get you to Haven, first location in Grahtwood.

But as jedtb16_ESO said, you can do both. But you meet characters from the base zones in Morrowind and Summerset though, so I personally think you should start with the alliance zones first

As for the Aldmeri Dominion quests I have done
    the Staff of Magnus
that I know for sure and (Please don't read the spoiler if you haven't done it
I have done battle in Cold Harbour after getting the 3 leaders of each faction. I know I completed that quest. Was that the final one after killing a lot of snake people?

It's been months since I have done it. I was about to delete the character because I forgot what I have done, but I have learned now that I shouldn't have never done so, and will not do this since I finally got this character to level 50.

Oh, then I think you completed the Aldmeri Dominion story and possibly the main quest too?
Did you (spoilers about the end of Coldharbour don't read if you didn't)
    battle with Molag Bal 1v1?

One Tamriel really did mess the order of the story :"D

I guess you can go to Morrowind now. Did you try Orsinium by the way?

No I was about to do that. I thought I finished the main quest but I still had to talk to The Prophet to find out I didn't finish it yet. So now I am
going to claim my soul back
. Just trying to get stronger since when I am trying the boss fights I am getting one shotted so I don't think I am strong enough for it yet.

I thought some people would find it confusing. My one problem with all Bethesda games is I keep restarting all the time. I thought ESO was the same to see I was horribly wrong. Just wondering what kind of loot to get. Because of real life events and depression it kept me from playing ESO for long time periods. That is why I don't know much about the game. Can't learn if I don't play or keep restarting. :)

If you go to your journal ("j" by default), and then click on the "Achievements" tab (third from the right), then click on "Quests", and then click on "Main Quest", you can see how far you've gotten. You can do the same for each zone's quests to get a feel for how much more there is to do for each one. The "Exploration" tab is also useful to see if you've hit the major spots to find. This isn't everything, but shows the major things you have or haven't done. Quite a bit of info in the "Achievements" tab.

Hm, staff of Magnus is main faction quest in greenshade, so if you have done the whole of greenshade main quest you should be directed to Malabar tor. Altough the staff is only half the main quest in greenshade if I remember correct, minor spoiler about what the story will be about not what will happen.... other half will be with a woodelf and undead.

Even though you can really start anywhere, I advise that any new player do the quests in all 5 zones in their alliance first. The quest will naturally take you from zone to zone. While doing those zones, you should be able to also progress through the main story. The main story is instanced, so once it becomes available, just do that section and then go back to the normal zones.

Trying to avoid spoilers here, but if you go that route, you should have 5 zones and coldharbor pretty much cleared out and completed. At that point, you have a decision to make. You can start on another faction, or start working on some DLC. No reason you cant mix and match, but from a story perspective, I dont like jumping around.

I am assuming you are still below level 50. I would personally avoid any of the DLC content until you get to level 50 AND get 160 CP under your belt. That way, any of the newer gear will drop at the max level, but It's certainly not a requirement.

Only reason I can ever see to delete a character is if you already have 15 and want something you dont already have.

Thank you very much for this.

Being my first MMO I didn't know why we shouldn't be deleting characters. I played them as an ESO/Fallout game. I was so wrong.
