Drop Rate on Pyandonean Bottles?

Not sure where to post this, so apologies if it's in the wrong place. For the last two or three weeks I spend a few hours a night fishing in Summerset to collect Pyandonean Motif Chapters. I've noticed during this time that I have a rough estimate of when I'll strike it lucky. Maybe one in every 30 Bottles will have a page, and I'll get about three - five bottles every ten fishing holes. That's just a rough estimate, and I know it's rng… but still, I recognise the trend to a degree.


However, the last few days have been different. I've gotten just two bottles all night, none yesterday and none the day before. Am I crazy, or has the drop rate decreased?

Thats what i noticed as well, could be so they can sell the motif for crowns instead. Drop rate definitly changed imo.

I haven't spent much time fishing, but I got a motif after 4 bottles. I'm feeling pretty lucky right now, usually my RNG is the worst.

I did about 6ish holes, got maybe 8 bottles, and only 1 chapter one night.

That's about right for how it was. Some holes would yield maybe three in a row, others none - but on average 25-30 bottles = 1 motif. I'd be almost certain to get one every three holes or so, at least. Now... Two bottles in twelve holes or more.

Was this recently you got the bottles?

This is ridiculous. I have been fishing and still no bottles! I would rather pay Crowns to get this!

I noticed a drop in bottles too, i fished alot in the last time but recently i rarely get bottles? maybe its just bad rng, who knows :I

Not sure, but I have the feeling its working for me like stealing motifs: 1 per day (per char farming).

Never was able to get more then one motif from inhabitants of vivec per day, not able to pull more then one motif per day from bottles ... or more then one psjik motifs from geysirs.

I am not complaining, tho. Its fine like that.

The ones from fishing r tradeable so can be bought from guildtraders.

I suppose the biggest variable is how long a day is. For me, a day could be a one hour play sesh after work, or a nine hour binge on my days off But I think the drop rate for me has returned to its values before this post (or I was just having a bad luck streak then) of roughly 500 casts = 30 bottles and one motif page. So far have had boots, chests, shoulders (x2), maces (x2), bows, axes, and staves... I think that's right. Damn! That's, like... 25,000 gold spent on worms! Can't quantify the craziness of actually doing it, though, nor compute the hours spent.

And yes I really mean 1 motif per day, regardless if it pops with the very first bottle i happen to fish out of the water, or after few hours and plenty of bottles (ok: "plenty" is exxagerated ... "many" fits better). One motif per day, once you got it just do something else with that char, or change chars and keep fishing.

i fished all but 2 chapters of the book - and from all the fish i got i calculated- - the bottles came 1 in every 20 fishing reels i cast- and that was with the fishing broth that doubled the chance of rare items.
the motifs where- about 1 in 10 . so the chance of getting a motif for me was about .5 percent, or every 200 fish i got one.

get the add on that beeps every time your reel gets pulled, get a book or turn on netflix , and a cup of coffee- cos ur in for a long time not a good time.

Haha, well yeah I guess I do Is there a better way, one that doesn't involve grinding? 'Coz I'm already grinding for my pages, more grind is to be avoided.

You might be onto something now I think on it. A couple of times, after switching character my first few casts resulted in a double-yield. Iirc, I got boots and bows at almost the same time, and another occasion netted axes and shoulders. This happened after a fruitless few hours on one character, almost as though something was tracking time and estimated I was owed back-pay.

Sweet, I just got that recipe too! You may have just cut my time in half! To be sure, you're referring to the Artaeum recipe?

Beeing a mastercrafter helps, especially beeing a mastercrafter picking up stuff along the way and/or doing surveys. Never spend any gold for worms and have more then 1k lying in my crafting bag.

Oh yeah, tripple proc sets have a habit of killing small critters, too. So, while moving from a to b I keep blade cloak active and proc anything in my way down ... lots of fishing mats, no work.

Less people are fishing. Maybe this is the true, unlucky, drop rate without competition.

Also, I have been wondering if the chances of pyandonean bottles goes up with more people fishing the same hole or if it would be affected by the new Artaeum fish attracting food/drink?
Maybe that could help if it does or maybe it would hurt since the bottle is "white" quality.

Anybody have any ideas or willing to put in a boring long grind to test?

I dont know if they probably increased the drop rates of the pyandonesian motifs or if i'm just beeing super lucky. Opened over 300 bottles in the last week or 2 and got 30 pages out of them, so about 1 motif in every 10 bottles. No full book so far tho.
