Sorcerer Solo/Small Scale PvP [Summerset]

Some fights on Sorc from this past week. The class feels extremely strong right now and rune cage is straight OP. Build is Amberplasm/Shacklebreaker/Pirate Skeleton.

    Not sure how you have any damage with that build. whats your SP, pen, what weapon trait?

    I tried Pirate Skeleton the other day, and it never procced. I thought I heard that it procced under shields again?

    I tried Pirate Skeleton the other day, and it never procced. I thought I heard that it procced under shields again?

    It still procs on health damage, and we usually take a little because shield stacks are pretty easy to knock down.

    I think oblivion damage procs it under shields.. sadly though, the major protection won't help with that damage - and the defile will only hurt your ability to heal it - lol.

    Keep in mind Amberplasm and Shackle are somewhat hybrid sets in terms of function. You’re getting 2 lines of damage, 1 line of crit, and over 3k magicka. The key to the damage however is lining up your burst, which sorc has plenty of this patch. I enjoy the incredible stam sustain on this build because 1.) It lets you run spell power pots while being able to manage stamina very well which 2.) lets you roll and block a lot. In practice, the ability to be so athletic on a sorc increases your survivability and damage output as well.

    Spell damage is about 2.4 k without sorcery or berserker glyph. Penetration is just light armor and about 3k from the champion points. Nirnhoned staff.

    Yeah it’s so zergy lately but you can still get some good fights. Small scale in groups of 2-4 is at least quite viable still, unlike solo play which is just in the worst state I’ve personally witnessed ever.

    So pirate skelly fits my playstyle very well because I play aggressively and let my shields drop a lot. If you have a more defensive playstyle, you might find better use in other monster sets. I also like the set for the one piece which grants ~3k resists, which helps a lot since I don’t run major resolve/ward. Also, oblivion damage will proc it thru shields.

    Make sure you also slap on sloads and some resource poisons for a truly well rounded build ;).

    Didn't really notice your food buff, but if you're running with shackle/amber and perhaps 1-2 well fitted traits, you don't really need anything other than the clockwork one (close to 1k hp regen is nice too).

    You can also get away with spell power potions and change your skills a bit, shackle/amber is absolutely enough in terms of stam sustain if played well.

    Thanks man! I just run witchmothers cus I never got around to getting the gold food, but it’s defiitely bis. I really do enjoy the stam pool and sustain on this spec. The dodge rolls come in quite clutch not only for mitigating damage but also animation cancelling frags and cages in certain instances. Especially since they frontloaded cps and reduced block cost, you can really get a lot out of dodge rolls and block with a little investment.

    That being said, I recently tried swapping Amber for spinners and the damage is very noticeably higher. Still, I personally prefer the Amberplasm playstyle.

    I did the same, I used spinner instead of amber but I found that amber is just definitely way better in 99% of the situations.

    The sustain it offers is just too good to pass on, and totally justifies losing the damage from spinner. I'd send you some gold ones, but I don't think we're on the same platform. :)

    But definitely try and get it, you could even bump up hp recovery by 5-6% in the CPs and try to hit close to 1k even without the major hp regen buff from the tri-pot.

    It can give you a little extra defensive boost as a mini heal along with your pirate action, plus the CP mini-heals from critting and taking crits yourself in combo with that. Every little bit counts in the end. ;)
