MAGDK and Psijic Order

After grinding out to level 10 the Psijic order is there not any viable builds that use anything from the Psijic Order quest line? A lot of effort to turn around and not get anything from it...

    only ability that could of been used would of been acceleration but the 3 second major expedition isn't worth it if it was 6 seconds could be used the cast time morphs is crap.

    Nope it generally sucks.

    If you zerg, timestop is OK.

    The acceleration skill isn't worth it in either PvP/E since trap is better for the latter, and the buff is too short if not using the bad channel one. I use the sprint one for zone dailies.

    The spammable isn't needed, whip better.

    The ult is detrimental to a DK, since it negates battle roar, and little synergy with it, such as streak x4 then undo.

    Meditate is debatable, usable as a PvE tank, since it grants protection, and pretty decent in group play where someone can cover your ass.

    Mend Wounds works wonderfully with my DK Healer.... I've also had some interesting fun using the Major Ward/Resolve morph on my tank in PVP...

    Reading through it I could see from a healer perspective that mend wounds would be great. Just sucks that all that effort is a waste in the end.

    Not a waste at all. There's something for everybody in the tree.

    As a healer, I already mentioned I like the Mend Wounds skill. The fact that it works like a Toggle and has a LONG range lob regardless of melee or range weaponry is fantastic.
    As a Tank, Time Freeze is a long-range, large radius Aggro Grab for me to open with- something we DK's have been lacking for a long time.
    Meditate is really damned useful for a tank as well, with the passives especially, enjoying 30% damage reduction while recovering sustain.
    For DPS purposes, Elemental Weapon is a hard-hitting spammable that you use while waiting for your DK's DOT's to finish their cycle. It's quite effective for single target high-health targets. It's also quite effective at longer range than whip is, something useful for a mag DK.

    Learn the way the skills work, see how they fit in your toolbox. They were never gonna be magic beans or a cure-all for DK's, but they are NICE extra tools to theorycraft with, test, and see how you can fit to your playstyle.

    I actually like channeled acceleration on my Mag DK. I can get 100% uptime on minor force and I can prebuff it before the fight. Also, when I block on that bar I get the free shield. It seems worse because it's a channel, but I am actually saving time since it lasts 3 times as trap. A lot of 4 person vet dungeon fights don't even outlast one cast of it.

    None of the other skills are particularly useful on Magicka DK though.

    Agree, it ouperforms Trap in any not complete stationary fight due to higher uptime of minor force.

    Pulse with AS staff. (If you can get it from weeklies.)

    My magplar enjoys the skills and passives tbh. Elemental weapon, Accelerate and Meditate are used frequently, love the visuals aswell.

    Mag DK doesn't get spare skill slots. You need basically all class skills just to stay alive and be close to effective (to fulfill your role on the battlefield).

    Nope, use Force Pulse and perfected AS staff for that.
