What do you do when you reach a mat node at the same time with another player?

I usually just quickly move on to the next, I'd rather have a head start on the rest of the route than win that one node

If I see them heading directly to it, I'll leave them have it. I'm not going to worry about a single node when there's plenty around.

If we get there at the EXACT same time, it really comes down to who is faster on the 'collect' button (its always them), if I see we are running to the same node, I run past to the next one and let them have that one uncontested. It sucks having someone breathing down your neck and being all over your butt to get a single node, so I just leave. Occasionally myself and whichever other random player end up leapfrogging nodes, but often I end up leaving if they become really aggro about it and try to speed ahead of me for everything. Just not worth it to me to compete with jerks when there are other places to get mats and they pop up everywhere.

I usually stop and stand there for a sec, you can always kinda tell what kind of person they are when doing this xD

Sometimes they stop too, in which case I'll ride off and sometimes even go to a different area to grind. Usually they pause, then go ahead when they see me stop. Some people really pick up speed man. Like they practically charge that node. I always laugh at that cuz I'm like "man hakuna your tatas I was gonna let you have it"

Oh well.

In short I let them take it, unless I really, really need it.

If the player's obviously after it, too, I let them have it. Why not, the world is big enough for all of us.

I take it everytime. I'm not a bad guy but my time is more valuable in a video game then someone else's . Same reason I don't get mad when a node is sniped from me

Unless i'm looting a treasure chest and i get agroed and they try to steal it.. then all nice is gone..

I wait a second to see if they are just actually walking by or collecting the node. If they want it I don't fight them it isn't worth my time and if they walk by I assume they don't want it.

The real question is what do you do when you start looting a node, but then get attacked by a random mob, and a passing stranger uses that to take the loot while you're in combat.

I usually just walk away, I don't care. I see it as fair play. But it also means that I will do this to someone else in the future.

I usually get yelled at and chased around by the person if I steal their node while they're in combat.

Slightly unrelated but I was farming nodes in Craglorn and had to fight off some wasps to get at a silk node. As I'm fighting them (right next to the node) somebody came running over and grabbed it! I rolled my eyes, threw a ceremonial light attack their way and continued on. But this guy followed me and initiated a trade!! Then he gave me a whole bunch of Ancestor Silk and whispered "sorry." I guess he didn't realize what he was doing in the moment. It was kinda amazing.

My ping is so lousy I don't even try, I can have a clear headstart and still be pressing E when they come up and steal it from under my skirts. Some people have no shame, and some have no internet.

I /tell them if it weren't for their Sloads set, I would have easily gotten that resource and then immediately alert the forums.

Or, I just let them have the resource.

On another note, how fun is it to say "sload" out loud.

I leave it to other player, If I am fighting enemies near a node and someone else come and help me, I leave it for them. If someone else fighting enemy near node, I will help them and leave node for them. Only exception happened after jewelcrafting nodes came into play, I became a bit mean. But now things are back usual way.

I generally try to get it, but the only time it really annoys me if someone else grabs it first is if I'm in combat and someone swipes it while I'm fighting practically on top of it. >_>;;

I feel a bit annoyed, If they would have come in fight or atleast just waited for fight to end, I would leave node for them anyways. But sneaking and picking up node, While in combat is bad manners for me. Though I never yelled or chased person doing this.

during jewel crating rush I was farming, one guy raced up from behind and took node I was going to take and when I looked at him, he start getting my attention to next node with his staff so I could take that.

If I run into someone on the same route as me, try to alternate the nodes I collect. Half for them, half for me. Keep it a nice, peaceful farming trip.

Unless they try to race, then I just have to attempt to take everything.

Eh, I'll try to harvest the node. If I don't get it, I just flip 'em the bird and move on. Plenty of nodes out there — well, except for jewelry seams. I've seen mini-world wars erupt over those when two or more players converge on them.

I let them have it because I'll lose if I try anyways due to oceanic latency. This also means that even though I clicked on it first someone always comes up from behind and even with the time it takes for them to dismount, they will still get it before my oceanic latency decides to cooperate.

I jump over the node because (A) is both jump and interact in gamepad mode. Same with Dolmen pinions and treasure chests. I've always wondered if I look crazy.
