Questioning the Achievement Journal

The way achievements are set at this moment in time feels very polarizing in the way that it is laid out. People either greatly appreciate it or aren't fans of it. There are going to be disagreements about features in any game but this feels like one where ESO is lacking when comparing it to other popular MMOs. It makes no sense that the credit for some things aren't account-wide, while the reward is. I am a bit of a completionist when it comes to games and I like going through a game slowly and methodically, getting the achievements along the way. The only issue is that when it comes to achievements like exploring the map, doing most of the quests in the area, beating the world bosses, etc. It doesn't seem replayable in the sense that I'll have fun if I have to do the exact same thing over and over again on every character in every zone. These achievements aren't really "guidelines" as many of the RP-ish group like to say about achievements. These are actual achievements that you need to go out of your way to... well... Achieve.

I know there are different groups of people with different ideas of how the MMO should be, this is good as it allows for healthy discussions.
For the group that like to RP and believe that their character is its own character and is in no way affiliated with the account that owns it or the other characters on the account, character-based achievements (collecting skyshards, most of the general character achievements besides the werewolf or vampire based ones, PvP achievements, etc.)
For the group that believe achievements should be fully account-wide (all of them) then a way for them to see if they've gotten a certain achievement on another character, contributing the achievement point (only once) to an overall account achievement score.

I don't believe achievement progression should be shared. I don't think if you do half of an achievement on one character that you should be able to finish it on another character. Not at all. I just believe that there are enough people wanting an account-wide medium (even if it isn't in game) to see their progression and how much of ESO that they have completed. An account-based achievement score would be enough. The achievements are fun to go after currently but I know that when I set out to do them a second or third time that they'll just be bland. It's like when you complete a linear game like CoD or Battlefield. They aren't overly re-playable unless time has passed or you want to get the achievements within the campaign. ESO has so many things that allow characters to play how they want to play, I adore the character customisation, but then you take a look at the achievements and suddenly you realise "I'm going to have to undergo the hours upon hours of grinding again to get these achievements on another character". That realisation is really disheartening for me as I was hoping to get all the faction-based achievements by creating characters in opposing factions.

I get that there will be trolly responses and people saying I'm beating a dead horse but I don't mind. It opens up a conversation in a topic that, when I searched, the last post about it was made a while ago. I wrote this post on the 6th of June. Not sure when I'll post it but I'll wait for the Summerset hype to cool down before, with hopes of a good discussion.
