Root Spam

I play a melee magplar and tried dueling outside of Stormhaven again recently. It was non-stop root spam from everyone. EVERYONE. Just immobilize without no end and no immunity. Even a frost staff magplar was like "sorry, I have no idea why it's not on cooldown" after the longest and most frustrating duel of life. I mean what is going on?
I didn't lose a whole bunch of times. In fact most of the duels just ran out of time. That's how bloody boring this type of gameplay is. All I wanna know is...
Are roots bugged in PvP?
If not, why is there no cooldown/immunity?
How do you counter it?
What were the devs thinking?

Datolite✭✭✭✭✭Put yourself in a magicka class' position. Your stam is barely covering CC breaks. As a magplar you can cleanse, but you'd have to have it on both bars to effectively do your rotation/reaction without bar swapping every TWO SECONDS.
Add into the equation a melee spammable that you can barely connect with in the first place? Good luck.

Roll Dodge supposed to give 2 sec immunity
Outside of shuffle, FM etc
There is no immunity and is the only thing frost staff has got going for itself1 -

No reason to run dw on magplar unless you like the look or have the stam sustain for blade cloak.0 -

Also yeah I just realized 2H has same damage % passives as DW, that's my bad. I can't remember where I heard otherwise. Looks like slotting Forward Momentum is the only way to deal with this cheese.0 -

Then I assume you are using a staff, not DW since I do not think DW offers any benefit over staff anymore.
But you are a magplar. You have the best cleans in the game. Cheap and effective. Use your skills.0
