PLEASE, I've purchased ESO from Steam but I can't get in game when not using Steam

Hello, folks. I've tried everything from Support area and FAQ. Nothing seems to match my issue. I tried to access the game without using Steam today (because of Steam issue). I used the provided Launcher inside ESO folder and it got me to the initial in game screen. However, my account and password there are not saved and that's how the issue starts.

1) I believe I used the right in game account but as for the password, when I press enter, it says "it could be invalid or if I bought the game from Steam, that I should start Steam before to get online". So, I am not sure now if I am using the proper Steam-free launcher or not (assuming it's Bethesda.net_Launcher.net).

2) Assuming it's the right launcher one and I am using the wrong password. I tried to access my account from https://account.elderscrollsonline.com, but I found out my Billing History has nothing! Keep in mind the USERID I used is not the same USERID that I have in game. Does it have to be the same?

3) I also tried to use my in game USERID, but the password seems not to work. Last I recall, from a long times ago (I bought the game in 2015), I recall being online in game in order to access my ESO account. But since I can't be online, I can't access the ESO account from https://account.elderscrollsonline.com. Is that correct?

4) I have the emails from the past with my in game code that I tried to redeem but it says it's invalid. It's possible it's in my other account (the one I can't access because I can't game in game tonight because of Steam).

Please, SupporTeam, help me to clarify this issue! I appreciate any help.

There is an authentication issue with Steam. So we are all having this issue. Sorry this has to be your first experience with ESO, but you will get in eventually with the rest of us.

Oh and your looking for a heck of a time if you try to de-join your Steam account from the Zos account.

Can we get the same access route that people who didn’t buy it from steam have please? There is no way cutting out an entire saturdays worth of play is protected conscionably in any agreement I’ve made with steam or zos.

My understanding is that you can't just swap in and out of Steam to run the game. If you bought it through Steam and the game and Steam account are linked then you have to launch the game through Steam.

Over the weekend Steam users were running into issues with logging in. These issues with Steam login issues should now be resolved.
