Is Alinor the new place for alt crafters?

From what I've seen, the go-to place for alt crafters to quickly complete daily writs was either Vivec City or Vulkhel Guard (Vivec City in my case).

But how does Alinor match up to them? All crafting stations are conveniently placed in a single room, along with the writ boards and a cooking fire. There's a general merchant right outside the room for those who need one, and a purchasable house near the crafting area too. And the hand in location is only a short walk from the area too.

The only drawbacks I can see with Alinor is that the bank is at the other side of town (unless you just use Tythis Andromo) and that you can't use a mount within the crafting area (but to be fair the stations are so close to each other, sprinting is really all you need).

Alinor is excellent for doing the writs if you don't have to stop in the bank.

I don't recommemd it for certifying the blacksmithing, clothing, or woodworking certification, as the NPC is pretty far away from the crafting area and I had to go back and forth, back and forth multiple times.

I still prefer Vivec City. And honestly don’t see why someone wouldn’t. You have everything you need there – wayshrine, guild merchants, stable master, all crafting stations at one place, NPC merchants and most importantly bank and Outlaws Refuges. So all you need in one place

As handy as Vivec City is for daily crafting writs it does have that rather unpleasant odour and the risk of some oik splashing mud on ones fine threads. It's Alinor from here on in for me :)

My alts are all still in Vivec. The main reason is most of them are still training riding, and the stablemaster and bank are more conveniently placed. Once all are done training riding I’d love to move to Alinor for the far more pleasant atmosphere.

I did bring all to Alinor for the certification though so they have the shrine discovered, but I didn't find anything that would improve my timing beyond what I have now. So the calculations I've made before CWC still stand, and so do my characters, in Riften.

Still using Vivec. Everything is nearby, bank at the center, guild stores nearby, no dismount. To be honest Vivec would be the ultimate crafting center if they had added an outfit station.

What sort of calculations? Time to complete the writs per character based on the town layout?

If I do writs on Alts I will probably still use Rawkla or Deshan. Alinor is nice but I have this thing about not bringing an alt to a zone unless they are actively questing in a zone. For instance, only 3 alts have been to CWC, about 5 for Morrowind, and so far only 1 for Summerset.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes, and loading screen length. I considered Vivec, but Riften loads consistently faster for me; what little I would have earned from shorter trips, I would have lost into the longer loading screens. The only inconvenient part is the consumable writ board across the river, but considering everything is outdoor, and all my crafting characters also have riding skill maximized, I can maneuver & ride there quite fast. Besides from that everything falls into place: Gear writs board -> enchanting & jewelry -> bank for provisioning & alchemy (pre-crafted) -> woodworking, clothier & blacksmith under the shed -> short ride and hop down for turn in -> hop across and up, turn back to bank. I've also optimized my addon setups for minimum loading times (MM was the biggest offender) so it only loads Trait Buddy, Master Recipe List and Daugubon's Lazy Writ Crafter for characters that aren't playable yet. I can do 14 characters in under an hour, including the secondary tasks like putting items for research, depositing surplus and taking other items from the bank, ex. common recipes and blueprints for learning. So that boils down to ~4m15s per character, of which ~1m15s is the loading screen. So effectively 3 minutes per character, 2m30s for crafting & travelling and 30s for subsequent inventory, research & learning management as stated above.

I'm returning to riften. Alinor an vivic take between 4 to 10 min to load into on a character. Riften leads in 1 and the alchemy station in less than 1 min. So I save time by changing. Which considering I do 25+ character day the load screen times are killing me

Vivec City is convenient, but who likes to craft in the rain? I love the crafting market in Alinor; bright, beautiful, well laid out and covered.

Alinor has a very good layout and return crates work perfectly and is my newest writ base. Running writs is as fast as in Vivec and Velyn harbour, but the good layout allows running with less attention. New characters that need stables stay in Velyn Harbour.

I considered moving my alts to Vivec City when it came out, but like others have commented, the atmosphere puts me off - it feels muddy and cluttered. Every time I say that, someone laughs at me, so I'm delighted to see folks in this thread citing that as a reason not to craft there.

Alinor, on the other hand, is gorgeous and clean and landscaped. My prissy little noblewoman-banker-alt feels right at home there, lol.
