Where is the level chooser?

According to the website you can chose to do BG's by level, 10-49 and 10-50. I am a 50 and my level 27 friend joined me but he was locked out from running with me. Nothing I see lets me select the level I want to play in. I had a level 36 pop up in a group I was in last night.

So how do we adjust the level so under 50 can run with 50's.

If you're level 50 you'll automatically be put into the upper bracket, and there's no way to go back (unless you create a new character, obviously). The "level 36" you saw was probably level 50, but with 36 Champion Points.

What about the part where the website says you can chose the level?

You queue for battlegrounds the same way you queue for a dungeon: on your group page. Select the battlegrounds subpage and make your choices there.
