Leeching plate from Imperial City Prison and Resilient Yokeda from Craglorn Trials

It’s an old combo I got from a really great tank. Provides no group utility, but you shouldn’t need a healer for most things with it.

If you’re gonna be a main tank though, you’ll end up having about 20 different sets carrying around.

    Dragonknight
Sets: jewelery with mag regen /mag cost
    Ebon armory
    jorvuld/alkosh/sunderflame/torug 1bar
    2 piece mag regen 1bar
    Skills for healing/sustain
    Igneus shield
    Green dragon blood
    Balance

That is 1 way to self sustain and still give good group support.
Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.

As a DK with access to Green Dragon's blood, you have zero need to find tricky sets that heal you. If you want to be an unstoppable truck that needs no healer you need do nothing more than stack plague doctor and Ebon Armory. Combine that with a very high mitigation and you will be unkillable. Your health pool will be so high that GDB will turn into a super heal.

Now as a disclaimer, I do not run this combo because I want the group DPS boost that comes from my other set. But there is a reason that every single time the developers of the game stream a vetHM of a new DLC dungeon they are coming out with, their tank is always wearing Ebon+Plague Doctor. Don't get fancier than that. Huge heals, huge shields for your team.

5 leaching plate, 5 Baharaha curse and engine guardian is what I run on my NB. I’m at mitigation cap and with the new cloak, I need no healer.

It’s fun as hell. You can run into a pack of mobs, not attack and watch them kill themselves.

The leaching damage can trigger Baharaha curse. I’ve pulled 20 mobs just messing about and they all died without me attaching.

Bahrahas for sure, but dont use Leeching Plate, the uptime is ass terrible in comparison. Either use something like Resilient Yokeda or Ebon.

Spam Burning Embers to heal yourself.

Leaching is only really good verses packs. As it’s 8% proc. You can actually replace it with livewire, which is 25%.

Both Baharaha and livewire can be bought from the AH. Combine them both for a cheap and easily available survival set.

Leeching adds aoe damage and has no cooldown, so can be better on trash.

Of course the biggest drawback to leeching is the fact you need to farm it in ICP. Must have taken me 30 runs to finally get the legs to drop. Oh the irony of needing to farm a hard dungeon to get a set to make farming dungeons easy lol.

When you say pure tank build... do you want all the focus to be in additional health? If so, Green Pact, Plague Doctor, Ebon Armory are all good sets.

Torugs Pact is a great crafted set if using Crusher enchant on your weapons. Akiviri Dragon set a good set if you want reduced Ultimate Cost.

Check out Woelers, Shred Gaming, Deltias and Altcast for their builds.

I also run a DK main tank. Though he's CP750, he's still learning and progressing in his experience. . . so he wears so-called selfish armor (Seducer x5, Plague Dr x5, Domihaus x1) S&B front, ice staff backbar. Both resists ~28k (reaches 33k cap with Hardened Armor), 42k health, 22k stam, 21k mag, 1500 mag regen. Even his weapons are 'selfish' to improve his survival (both are defending, with absorb health enchant on sword). Another thing that helps survival is his Imperial race for the passive heals on attack.

Though a healer to keep him flush with rapid regen/mutagen is nice (so is shards), he can sustain his own health via his set up, using Green Dragon Blood if he gets in trouble. His mag sustain (regen + Seducers) is solid. So is his stam sustain (Igneous Shield + Helping Hands passive).

Predictably, he is very very hard to kill and pays for it with negligible dps. He can solo a world boss while eating a sandwich - just takes him 20 mins to kill the boss.

Lots of great tank armor sets... LOTS.

My current is: Ironblood + Livewire + (lord warden, bloodspawn, chudan, etc.)

Very tanky, super-cool T1000 terminator looking proc, group utility with the off balance, and the heals.... all around great combo

Have you tried checking out Alcast HQ? (it has a few good tank builds.)
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

spamming burning embers is a much better way of healing yourself, unless you're very low.

also, seducers is a bad sustain set for DK. you shouldnt need any sustain set at all, but if you really want to, alteration, akaviri dragonguard, black rose, or desert rose are all better options
