ZOS please investigate random server lag (999+ ping) and disconnects since yesterday 6-6-2018

As the title suggests, since yesterday the game has become totally unplayable for me or my geographical region (Belgium) with at best 5-10 sec freezes (in-game ping 999+) and worst timing out and kicking me back to login screen.

Note that only the evening before I had a perfect buttersmooth play session right after the 4.0.8 while successfully validating the multicore fix so I know and verified that my computer and game's configuration are in a flawless state currently. I have to assume the ZOS server team is aware already and all over it. In that case it would be nice if @ZOS_GinaBruno could confirm here or give a status update. I never have these sort of connection problems while playing ESO and neither did I during the past 6 days before yesterday. So this unplayable ESO server lag is new and exceptional to me

IMPORTANT: during all of my play session including all 999+ freezes and disconnects I had a cmd box with a continuous ping open all this time to a completely different non-ZOS related internet address with a perfectly stable ping of 16-20ms in order for me to validate that the connection problem was not on my side. This proves to me that:

1. The source of this latency is located at the ZOS end since discord and my open continuous ping as well as other internet connections are not affected at any time. Only in-game connection to the game server is affected and everytime it happened I switched to validated that my connection to any other internet destination was unaffected.
2. It's most likely connection wise related but also could be server overload or something that causes the replies from the game server to temporarily stall and make the client freeze (waiting for answer from game server)
3. There were other people in my group that were able to play fine during all my dc's and lags so it might be restricted to my geographical region (Belgium)
4. The source of this latency problem is not client-side located and not to be confused with the multicore fps changes that were fixed in 4.0.8 patch

A Lot of people have shared similar issue since 10 days on the french forum

Issue identified at a german telekom node, some people could bypass it by vpn but not sure his is same problem or not

French CM reply was to discard the issue at best

I'm always amazed at the number of people who think they are directly connected to ZOS's server, and there no internet in between. "It's not my end, must be yours". No, it's not the ends, it's the middle.

Are you using random channels on your Router? If your on Wifi I would suggest flipping to a static channel for each connection you have

No wifi, RJ45 CAT6 from the PC to the router. But if that were the problem I wouldn't have had a stable ping to other internet sources. That alone is proof that my connection to the router cannot be the problem

I'm always amazed at the number of people who don't read posts and data carefully before answering or simply don't have the first clue.

If you had read the part about the open continuous ping to other internet sources that are not ZOS related you would know that OP is well aware of the sea of routers that make up the internet between source and destination and that he validated connectivity to the other sources first in order to eliminate them...

I have also had lots of screen freezing for like 10 secs at a time in the last 24 hours. This has never been an issue before.

Just so people know, the ZOS servers are at Akamai in Frankfurt, Germany and Dallas, Texas respectively.

So? Unless hes pinging other nodes across the route his signal has to travel to reach ZoS servers this is a pointless exercise.
Even if you ping places in the same city as the servers the signal might still travel a different route. OP has not provided information on what he pinged and it could've been his neighbors router for all we know.

If you lived in a house next to a street that goes from south to north would the absence of a traffic jam south of your house prove that there can't be a traffic jam north of your house?

Do you have any background programs working besides the game client for example like Discord? Try disable them and see whether there is any difference. Try experimenting by disabling out of date add ons as well...

My game crash twice this night and i realized it bcoz a Nvidia program i used. I started enabling it when login ESO window came in, then comes the loading screen...then a few minutes crash ....try it again same crash...then i think maybe coz of this nvidia program i used, then i stop it..,woah i can login into the game without a problem.

I've been having the same issue. Ping jumps from 60-70 to 600+ then goes back. Thought at first it was on my end, double checked everything and ran some ping tests, seems to be only when connecting to the game servers so it's probably a router on the way. I also live like 100km away from the servers. (edit: from the Frankfurt servers).

Would be nice if this could be checked.

Thanks for this tip! This seems to solve at least part of my problems after playing eso now few hours without NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Thanks again!

Huge number of players in ESO probably adds to the problem if not causes it in the first place. Playerbase escalated in the last few weeks.

I have been getting a number of never ending load screens when entering a dungeon. Only solution is often to log out and back in. Especially frustrating if you just waited for a long PUG queue on a DPS.
