8 Tempering Allow failed to improve purple weapon.

I have all of the perks to guarantee 100% improvement chance. I bought 8 Tempering Allow to upgrade my purple Gryphon's Sword... When I tried improving the item at a station the 8 Tempering Allow were used up, and my Gryphon's Sword remained purple. It happened a few hours ago, and I put in a ticket.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Will I be able to get my items back? Tempering Allow are expensive! </3

You used to get failures at 100% chance early, early in the game.

But to consume the tempers, not lose the item, but have it stay purple? That's weird.

Yeah, it's obviously a bug. I'm just waiting on a response for my ticket now. This was the last thing that I needed to do for my build to be complete, lol.

This exact thing happened to me the other day with a light armor piece. It wasn’t a typical failure to improve item (since I had 100% chance and the item was not destroyed). The 8 dreugh wax were just gone and the item was still purple. I was using a clothing station in my house, not sure if that makes a difference.

consider yourself lucky, this should have destroyed the weapon.

This is a sucky bug, but I'm glad that I'm not alone. Now we can only hope that we get our mats back. :/

I was using a blacksmithing station in Alinor when this happened. I don't think it has to do with using the station at your home.

I got an email from customer support saying that they cannot help me. I explained my issue again, and said that my issue has not been resolved. This is an obvious bug, and I should not have to lose 40k gold because the game glitched out.

    My ticket number is 180605-003735

Personally, I would bet that at least one member of the support staff can, in fact, restore the 8 Tempering Alloy which were consumed. They have restored such losses before, and used to do that routinely.

However, I doubt that every member either has the skill or or the access to the system to restore lost or destroyed items (among other GodMode powers). So they arbitrarily decide to reply that they "cannot help you" -- which is true, but someone else there can. Whether they want to take the time to make the effort to refer you to one of those who can help you is their choice.
