Upgrade code

So I'm on Xbox one and I have ESO+. When i logged into play summerset, it's asking me for an activation code or I can upgrade later. Is this part of ESO+ or is this a money thing i HAVE to pay for?

Summerset isn't a DLC that you get free with ESO+
You have to purchase it separately.

SERIOUSLY?! JEEZ WELL LOOKS ZOS REALLY FOUND A WAY TO AVOID FREE DLC

Hi @gamerguy757,

Summerset is a new Chapter in ESO as opposed to a DLC so is not included in ESO+. Chapters are larger expansions to the game as opposed to DLCs which are usually smaller content additions.

They did this with Morrowind last year though...

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find Morrowind larger than Orsinium in terms of content.

Orsinium was the DLC that Morrowind and Summerset EXPANSIONS could have aspired to be.

It's like you said, just a lazy way of charging more money. Greed on display. They charge for base game, charge a sub price for basically enough space to store crafting supplies.(should be in base game). They also charge ridiculous amounts for random things in the crown store.
