Changing of @ name and addons

so, when you change your @ name, all your addon settings are completely reset to default as if you just got the addon brand new. but if you change @ to a previously had @ name, the settings from when you used that @ are still there.

So when I create a completely new @ never used before it'll be set to defaults, so my question is,
am I able to somehow , somewhere in addon settings place my new @ name so I don't have to go back in-game and spend time redoing all my addon settings?

Go to your saved variables folder. On each file in there, do a find&replace old_@name new_@name.

If you already logged in with your new @name once, you need to do a find&replace new_@name with some random other @name first, since otherwise you will have two conflicting sets of settings.

The saved variables folder has all settings for your add-ons. You need to replace your old @name in all files in there everywhere it occurs.

Just open with any text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++. It is a text file.

oh alright cause each time i'd go back into game and would follow along screenshots just to get settings back to the way they used to be but it'd take so long. I ain't good at picking usernames really so tend to change quite a bit

You can use the search and replace function of notepad to quickly go through a file. Edit: nvm was already suggested

Just make sure you're logged out of the game while editing the files or they will be overwritten with the old values again.

As others said, notepad is fine. I would recommend installing notepad++, it's free for private use and leaps and bounds better.

Also make sure you read my edit. First replace new_@name with a random other_@name, then do old_@name with new_@name.
