Sometimes you just can't win even when you do.

So the other day im on my pve character in reapers march waiting for dungeon finder and i got the request... without looking too much i accepted a duel instead.. ok fine i don't mind .. there i am vs level 30 DK and as im on my pve character i only have aoes , anyway after a while he wins as expected not a big deal to me and then i get hate whispers saying "your a such a big noob lv 30 character kicked your behind what noob "ect ect ..

So i replied back to him saying "yhea that is normal allot of pvp players make a low level character with impen and full cp points as they are battle leveled im full pve ", so i change up my skills a bit duel him again and kill him with ease ... then i get whispers saying " congrats you managed to kill a low level character you fell proud now your still a F#$%$# noob wait here i will get my NB.

So while waiting i put on my Zaan, SA ult mines ect and waiting . he comes back we duel i win ... i get whispers again .. " your noob all you do is stand in mines you should kill your self".. im like ok.. i will change then so i use streak and few other skills . i win again i get whispers " bahah you a noob just streaking around and using SA and Zaan what a noob you suck"... ok.. i know im just been trolled and at this point its my fault in giving in... so i remove and change things around he kills me with ganking and then i get whispers " SEE i told you, your a noob, i won that so easy stop playing the game quit your a noob just delete the game" at this point i just moved away...

But it got me thinking..

I can understand if this is a duel tournament and there are rules to what you can put on and ect but this was just a duel a street fight so to speak.
As i suck as pvp player so i use what works for me and what is available for me to survive in any means possible which is mines and SA Zaan or skoria ect and i have to time it right when to use it ect. And why wouldn't i want to use Zaan ? is it op? sometimes it works sometimes its just useless depends but i spend over 5 hr trying to finish the dungeon from 11pm till 6 am in order to get it and not even counting other hr that were wasted as people just quit in the end, it was not given to me, i didn't buy it i earned that so why would i fell bad using it?

Do i use a cheese build build to win without having to be a master at pvp? , yes i use what i can in order to survive , ive never complained with NB using ganking with proc sets to kill me.



I mean nobody said to Indiana "Ohh your a noob using a gun against sword ", and if he used whip they would say "ohh your using a long range weapon your a noob", and if Indiana used a pocket knife and lost.. "ohh your a noob using a knife against sword".

So my question is , are you like me and use what ever you can and is available in order to win a duel or in pvp, or is there a honor and you use only specific skills only?
And do you have a funny weird story to tell when dueling or pvp.

As for me as stated before i don't play much pvp and i don't initiate dueling as im bad when it comes to it but if somebody randomly challenges me to a duel im going to be using what ever is available in order to win.

That lovely individual was guilty of two tjings: Beong a prideful ***, and a sore loser.

This is pretty much why I avoid doing duels. Since I'm not a particularly mighty PvP player, I feel like if I accept a duel and get my ass beaten, I'll be victim to someone jerking himself off. Or if I happen to beat them, I will be a witness to them breaking down in a frothing furious rage.

Last I had an unpleasant encounter in duels was in World of Warcraft: Was dueling a Hunter, the cheesiest of classes (This is on a way-back-server on Classic mind) as a Rogue, nearly beaten him even with me forgetting to put on a better piece of armor, and I just had the guy berrate me, like he is the best player ever (Ignoring the fact that he nearly got beaten himself).

Just called him a Huntard and blocked him. Not worth troubling one's self with some guy who won't admit that their opposition was a worthy foe.

You can stoop down to his level by killing him in a duel, sending a condescending whisper, and then immediately putting him on your ignore list.

The people that cry foul because you didn't play in a way they can beat are so funny, you could just as easily reply they are such a noob for whatever playstyle they choose too. Don't listen to these whiners that want, demand you play their way Instead ask them, "oh do you need me to wear training gear so you can learn how to beat me?"

In Cryo one day i was on a toon that is not built for 1v1 but as support, i got separated from the group i was with and someone tried to gank me near a resource, as i pulled back to cover he got too close to the guards and well i won. I got all sorts of salt about facing him out in the open...like why would i let you pick the battlefield that you are clearly designed for, if you wanna kill me adapt. I tried 3 times. He lost 3 times. Later in a large scale battle i see this guy make a bee line for me....only he never made it, he got cut down long before that.

When people win a duel then I just say GG ty4duel and move on . Sounds more like you've had bad luck finding mature players in duels .

Teabagging is against the ToS as it's harrasment. That said the content of those whispers probably qualifies too, so report them and ignore them.

If that's the case, certain emotes, running around a character with your horse and a bunch of other stuff can me called harrassment by another player and I can be penalised!?

A prime example of why I was disappointed they even added dueling to the game. More grief than good, IMO.

It's happened before; a long while back there was a person who complained on the forums because they'd been punished for...I think it was jumping on a table and using the /dance emote...while others were roleplaying.

The game mechanics set the rules. Anyone who duels & loses & then whines about a particular skill/set/tactic/etc... can be ignored.. or laughed at.. or pointed at & laughed at /laugh /sweep /kissthis

To be fair, a magsorc with zaan, SA and sitting in mines doesn't really prove anything skill-wise, which seems to be what you were intending, otherwise you would have just ignored him
