Hey guys, completely new here.

I have the base game from launch. I'm new to ESO PLUS.

ESO plus advertises it lets you access DLC while subscribed. does that mean I dont have to buy summerset for $40?

Summerset and Morrowind are chapters, so you will not get them with ESO Plus. You'll get everything else though.

Can I access summerset instantly? Or do I have to hit max level first or something? how do these things work?

I don't have Summerset yet since I'm on the xbox, but from my understanding you should be able to hop right into it similar to the Morrowind chapter.

You have to purchase Summerset separately even if you have ESO+.

You don't need to be a certain level to access the chapters (Summerset or Morrowind), you can go there at level 1. In fact, new characters DO start in the latest chapter automatically. But yes, you need to buy them separately.

ESO+ will give you access to Morrowind chapter (since it got DLC status), but Summerset will require a separate purchase.
No zone in ESO has level requirements : start where you like.

Add that now you get access to Morrowind ZONE with ESO+ now, but the Warden CLASS needs a separate purchase from the crown store.

As others have said, Chapters are separate so you will have to get those game upgrades regardless if you have a subscription or not. You also will not lose access to these if your subscription runs out however; you will lose access to the DLC.

If you make a character after upgrading to Summerset, they will spawn there. Same thing happened with Morrowind. So yes, you will have access to the chapter locations even if you have a fresh character. If you have characters created before getting the chapter upgrades, you will just have to take a boat to Summerset.

Morrowind becomes a dlc this week, so yes, you will get it. You will need to buy the Warden from the crown store though.

I have ESO+ on PC and got access to the Vvardenfell zone that way. I have not purchased Summerset, as I'd prefer to work through the Morrowind content first. My new Dunmer is living in Vivec, having moved into the free Inn room.

I did not get the Warden class, as that's now a separate Crown Store option, just like I don't have the Imperial race. Neither of those are included in the ESO+ bundle.

If you could wait for ESO Plus since base game launch, than I'm sure you can wait a year more for the Summerset to be a new DLC just like the Morrowind now ;). Just follow my example and be a little more patient :).

Kinda off topic, but you will find much better narrative flow in the game if you play through it chronologically.

    Starting alliance quests + mage’s guild + fighter’s guild -> 2nd alliance -> 3rd alliance -> Coldharbour part of the main quest -> Morrowind -> Clockwork City -> Summerset

There are a bunch of dialogue instances that change if you’ve participated in the previous content’s questlines. It feels very satisfying.

Edit: technically you’re meant to complete main quest before the other alliances, but you will encounter base-game NPCs in Coldharbour that have different dialogue trees if you’ve done their related quests.

    Hi @Sonics12,

I just wanted to come in and confirm what others in here have already been so helpful as to point out. ESO+ will give you access to DLC, however Summerset is classified as a Chapter, not a DLC. It does need to be purchased separately to gain access. Once you have purchased it, you can access the content starting at Level 1.

You can access Summerset immediately at any level once it’s purchased. ESO’s world is scaled to level 50 CP 160 and your character will effectively be scaled to that at all times (it’s a funky system, but it works, keep your gear current to your level and you’ll do fine).

And then 12 months from now Summerset will magically be reclassified as DLC, like with Morrowind? I guess that would mean Jewelry crafting and/or Psijic skill line will be added to Crown store like the Warden now?

Until a new chapter is released then Summerset will count as a DLC again.

Does ESO+ give access to Morrowind now?

Magically reclassified? Must be new to MMORPGS. Old expansions almost always get lumped into old content, sometimes entirely free. Nobody wants to start a game where they but every expansions. Thank WoW for that glorious change. They basically set the standard for rolling old xpacs into the base game

Slight nitpick, Cyrodiil and by extension Imperial City have a level 10 requirement, but that's it.

I get it, but those other MMOs called them expansions and didnt create the DLC vs Chapter designation. If ZOS stuck to the expac naming convention, the irony of this wouldn't exist.

Umm, you can't start the 2nd and the 3rd alliance before you finish Coldharbour.

Technically you can. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from starting the main quest lines of any alliance or zone. One Tamriel changed that. Now there is no logical explanation for being able to fight for all 3 alliances, assuming you didnt finish coldharbour first. You still have caldwells silver and gold, but you can still complete the entire 3 alliance zones without ever finishing coldharbour, then finish coldharbour and turn in silver and gold almost immediately.

Yes, you can. Since "One Tamriel" event happened, you can go anywhere in any faction and really really really get the story mixed up and confuse the heck out of yourself, if you've never done it before. Most of the questions new players are asking are related to how, where, why, and when should things be done, or found, or why they need to do this since they've never heard of the npc before and have no idea about what is going on.

I can understand why some of the "been here longer" players wanted the open world, but it can really confuse and complicate things for new players.

Given enough time, just like morrowind, summerset could in time, become a DLC instead of a chapter & become accessible to ESO+ subscribers.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.
