Suggestion: carrying over settings to new chars from old char

I very much would like an option to somehow carry over the settings and keybindings from an old char to a newly created char. I hate that I have to set it up again and again, and then realise some time later 'oh I missed that checkbox'

I think it would be nice if there would be an option in the character creation process where you could select an already existing character and the new character settings and keybindings were set like the chosen existing character

    Yes, please!

A long time ago, I rekeyed my Ultimate and my Mail button and I'm always confused when new characters don't have that.

Meanwhile, I think I have about 5 different buttons for Hide UI across my characters...

Off hand I cannot recall the name but there are addons that do this for you. I notice you are on PC.

Jovex settings transfer comes to mind. Something about Binder as well. I think between the two you can get keybinds and some addon settings transferred.

    Agreed!

Just make it a saveable and loadable setting selection! Both game settings, keybinds, and chat setup!

It doesn't need to be in cc. If my memories are correct rift had import under settings. You could activate/deactivate whenever you want and select which options you like to import. It was cool.

Yep, I hate logging into a newly created character and immediately start auto-running into a wall when I key up in discord.

I'm sure there's an addon for that. If not, there should be.

For the keybindings, you could use Votan's Keybinder. It's what I use.

I just tried Votan's Keybinder: works quite well, simple and it is up-to-date !

I really felt many years ago and still do now (reinstalled the game) that this should be a basic/default thing in ESO. The keybindings should be global by default with the option to customize per character if desired.

nb: a few years ago, I used another mod to fix this big waste of time (quite boring to reset all keybindings!)

agree it's silly especially when all my guild chat colors are different because there's no global setting or way to copy/paste to new char

I agree with OP. Though I use Votan's Keybinder to get around this shortcoming, it should not require an addon to provide such a basic, welcome and simple improvement.
