crafting bug?

I have an open slot to research in the clothing line, have researchable item, however when I try to research I get "no available slot" message

I keep having this issue across the board in my research. I'll be researching in all available slots, but for some reason one will act empty - for me, e.g., it's most often with the maul I'm researching, but I've also had it happen in jewelry crafting and clothing. I've reported the bug more than once, but so far it's remained an issue.

Are you trying to research the same item in a different trait?
A hat is being researched in divine now won’t let you research a hat in nirn till the first hat has finished
Been a while since I did any research so I could be wrong on this but this is the best I can remember

No, it's a different item. Sometimes it just seems to "forget" that I'm researching the maul - it shows up sometimes with the day countdown, but then sometimes shows up just as it did before I started researching the trait, although it is still researching and as far as I can tell doesn't affect the actual timer. I'll try to post some pictures when I get home tonight.

Update: It was working properly when I played tonight, but I’ll post pictures if/when it happens again.

Got the same problem. Thought it was fixed in last update but problem came back. Trying to research trait on dagger in blacksmithing. Have 2/3 slots researching. When I attempt to research any trait on any item in blacksmithing not currently being research on that item it says trait already being researched or no available slots.

Looks like a bug ...

All add-ons turned off as well?

I've got no add-ons that do anything with crafting. Plus it was working fine v veggie 1st Summerset anything hit.

Mine was still working tonight, but I hadn’t had any add-ons installed when I was getting the error.

I tried again today, and same issue, yesterday it was ok, I turned all add ons off, no difference

Bummer.

My advice is to start a support service ticket to get it fixed ... along with sending in a /bug ticket in-game as well.

EDIT: Also make sure the piece to be researched is NOT locked.
