I'd like to see people's reviews of summerset and I'll post mine first.

I think Summerset is a beautiful landscape filled with angry Altmer that have ancient powers. I enjoy the Psijic Order skills and am fascinated by their effects. The quests were great and fulfilling as were there rewards. I love the new Jewel crafting system and the world bosses are challenging and fun. I have yet to do Cloudrest.

I agree. I just came back to the game after almost a year and a half break and am thoroughly enjoying Summerset. I haven't done all the content from this region yet (just the main quest and the quest to unlock the Psijic Order skill line + a few side quests), but I'm looking forward to exploring it a bit more! The main thing I'm impressed with is the landscape and regions (Summerset & Artaeum). Both are really detailed and very beautiful

    Best yet.

Plenty of questing and area, I think way more than Morrowind brought us.

Jewelry crafting is a good addition, though upgrading jewelry is mostly out of reach, at least we can change traits, About all it is useful for.

Psijic line is fine. Will see how useful and where over time. Quest was a grind but the Augers dialogue was fabulous.

Over all it is pretty solid.

The area is well designed and is fun to explore. The model of Nocturnal ruined the whole flavor of the story. Psijic Order skills are quite cool and fresh, but grinding the portals is not cool and fresh. Jewelry crafting is finally in the game, yay, but it's certainly too much of a grind for a somewhat casual player like me.

Feels smaller than Morrowind to me, despite all the grinds. I kind of wished for more, can't put my finger on what is missing, but yeah.

I have been loving this chapter since PTS. It's an amazing zone all over, carrying sign of hard work done by the art team -kindest regards to them.

There definitely is way more content than Morrowind. Main questline is so addictive i don't even know how many times i procrastinated my sleep saying "one more line... one more line..." it's just beautiful.

Psijic Order levelling was fun, and fast in terms of grind imo. And the skill line brings nothing but some georgeous diversity to all roles.

Update 18 is also the best we got so far. I still see loads of people QQing about stuff but i believe they will never disappear no matter what. Sure thing is that there is always way to go, but ESO is going on the right direction.

My biggest disappointment is the voice acting. Somehow it's not satisfying, many major characters sound plastic. Especially Z'Maja, i just want to mute her :\

Cloudrest is also fine, definitely better than Asylum. Tho in terms of a mini trial. I don't mind having mini trials but i would like to see a good old fashion trial in an expansion.

    Just my 2 cents.

Summerset review ........ hmmm ...... Well, I think the overall look of the place is breath taking, I love every inch of it, beautiful.
Then we get on to the Main Quest line .....hmmm I'm sorry but I found it slightly boring, unchallenging, easy really. The was too much NPC chatter, lacklustre fights and poor rewards (which is fine for a poor quest line really)

The Psijic Order quest line was ok, not really overjoyed at running round the map of Tamriel to close portals BUT saying that it wasn't hard, they were quite easy to find and the Skills are nice.

The 6 World Bosses I found quite a challenge and fun.

Delves, again really easy, no challenge really and naff rewards.

Jewelry Crafting (so far) is as it should be (should take some time before i max it out)

I find the side quests more fun than the main ....... It was really good to see Raz back in the thick of things lol

Summerset was released way to soon, it was not ready IMO.

Just the lag spikes that are now constant throughout the whole game.

It used to be only in cyrodil, but now everywhere, now that is a big problem.

I got a giant clam furnishing that opens and closes, so yeepee.

Honestly, I've barely dug into it. Not thrilled with the Psijic quests or how jewelry crafting was implemented, but have found some of the side quest interesting. Raz is as witty as ever. The voice for K'tora is obnoxiously loud and makes playing the game late at night without headphones in a house with sleeping housemates an issue. I like beaches, the ocean, fishing and sea-themed stuff so I'm enjoying that. Annoyed with the high elf attitude overkill (didn't enjoy that with Morrowind and the Dunmer either). I wish the art style was a bit more congruent with Auridon but whatevs. it's very pretty and the housing/building interiors are the best in the game so far, in my opinion. I really like some of the new monsters, so much I hate having to kill them when they aggro.
PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

when i first heard about summerset i was seriously so excited lol I bought the collectors edition for myself and my 2 best friends

I love the landscape, i love that we finally get to see the highelfs home land, I love the psijics. the furniture is great. zos design team is awesome

My biggest problems are the state of jewelry crafting and sloads, Ik some people dont think these are even valid but seriously their killing this for me

like i was ready to go out bust my ass and become a master jewelry crafter, seriously tho, for what? so i can craft a max of purple jewelry? I can easily farm that stuff, trait change? at least for magic its been proven that arcane is the best still. jewelry writs? they cost more to do than you get

sloads, I have spent way more than my fair share of times in cyro, i literally learned to play this game in cyro, grew from a lvl 20 fighting cancer zergs 12 hrs a day until i was champ 500 and i have never seen a set that has the capability to *** on my build this hard, and its not like i have not become accustom to the idea of oblivion dmg, i have main'd a sorc for a very long time

I've been thinking on this and, for now, my review would probably be a bit like this: Summerset is absolutely gorgeous to the point in which, even after having gotten the Saviour of Summerset title and really soaking the place up, I still can't get enough of taking screenshots and questing. Everywhere I look there is something I want to take a picture of. From Indrik and Gryphons, Alinor Ringtails and Coral Crabs; to vibrant scenery and soaring architecture, the place is magnificent.

I think it's very well-written, too. There are loads of highlight quests which explore Altmer culture and what happens when individuals don't quite fit in. We get to experience their strive for perfection in every way, the importance of family and ancestry in their lives, and really get to see how those things shape who they are. There's also lots of ambiguity and black and white morality to act as a counterpoint to the rigidly black and white values of the people. Yeah, story and quests have been fantastic.

So to say I've enjoyed it a fair bit is an understatement, and I actually want to replay it with the new tutorial to experience from a different perspective.

All that said, there is something that sort of nags at me which is hard to let go of: Because it has been a land steeped in mystery and rumour for a long time, it has been a blank canvas upon which the imagination fills in the blanks with help of whatever information was available. The architecture debate aside, a big part of me was disappointed not to see Troll Guards standing watch outside and near the Crystal Tower, for example.

That's not to say I dislike the lore and details, indeed it'll take another playthrough for a lot of missed details to sink in. I enjoyed that which we learn about the Sapiarchs, and the Divine Prosecution and the myriad roles they play are pretty fascinating to me.

I guess it'll just take a bit of time for some of the hopes I had going in to get reconciled with what I know now. I think I'd have liked to see more diversity because in some ways there isn't much cultural difference between a mer from Sunhold to an elf from Alinor- which now makes sense as to why it might be a deeper layer than I expected as diversity vs cultural hegemony is a central theme. But still, if it is there I've missed it bar a few small things.

I was also hoping for a bit of wilderness and perhaps subversive aspects, a bit of primal culture in the heart of civilisation, or Goblin slavery and the continued practice of it in isolated areas would have been nice, but again, if it's there I've missed it beyond what we get in King's Haven Pass or other small areas.

So it'll take a bit of time for years of filling in the blanks in my mind to give way to those blanks coloured in differently. It'll also take time for the deeper layers of the story to become clearer and the implications of Summerset's future and how that effects the new bits of Tower lore to crystalise, but ultimately I don't think I'd trade what was in my head with anything we've been given.

I find myself wanting more and more, long after I turn off the PC, so that's awesome!

I'm going to have to give a negative review. But it's probably more related to the general direction of the game than Summerset.

    I'm a die-hard PVPer - but I do like solo questing in MMO's - it's only really group dungeons that I don't like.

But Summerset.. I tried doing the questing - like I did for Morrowind, but just couldn't get interested. It's all because of difficulty. Questing should be challenging, dangerous, and give you a feeling of excitement and trepidation when you come across a boss - and a sense of accomplishment when you compete a quest, beat a main bad-guy.

But it's all too easy.. Mobs dying in 2 shots without your health moving at all.. Honestly, may as well just ride through them to the objective. I mean you spend more time riding and listening to the NPC's than you do fighting. It's just taken all of the purpose out of it for me.
So as a result, I soon went back to PvP - haven't levelled up the Psijic line, haven't found more than 3 or 4 jewellery nodes to even start levelling the crafting (do they even appear in Cyro? haven't seen any).

So really, as an expansion, it has just failed to get me to do the content. Morrowind managed - but only because I started a brand new Warden to do it (without spending CP or crafting full builds for him) - so there was a bit of a challenge to the quests. But Summerset.. NEw skill-lines, new crafting line - that's all stuff you want to add to an existing character - so the difficulty imho should be scaled up to work with a CP700 geared character.

Sorry. I'm just not engaged with it.

But then it gets worse.. On to PVP. The scoring changes had absolutely the opposite effect of what they intended... I was seeing these as a bit of a beacon of hope - something to stop the domination of the off-peak faction and give the others something to fight for again (ie a chance of actually winning a campaign) - but no. Its just worse.
People have completely given up, and PVP has devolved into bunches of small groups looking for cheap kills (or standing around looking at each other because they are 'friends' - until someone from a third faction comes along).
Not to mention the massive damage increase and more and more undefendable mechanics..

Honestly, it's the release that has made me pretty much stop playing. And I bought it with such high hopes.
    Minalan owes me a beer.

Summerset is ok, but the Psijic Order line was making me pull my hair out. The only thing ZoS did right, in my opinion, was that they gave us enough quests to grind it out to 10 unlike guild skills in the past where the quests only get you to a certain point and then you have the grind out the rest by doing menial garbage work like finding Lorebooks or boring dailies.

But the line itself? Boring and a pain. I wish ZoS would make guild lines more interesting.

Rest of it seems fine though.

The map is beautiful really, and architecture is breathtaking.
Main story is very nice however side quests are not very interesting (and IMHO, not enough, I think morrorwind had more).
But: summerset is small, no kiddin, which it would be fine given its price, I just don't get why lolZOS had to say it was the biggest map ever introduced. It's not.
Performance issues are game breaking, those microfreezes are ugly as hell, jewellery crafting is a ridiculous grind, while psijic order is a nice addition.
Overall I agree with who says they released summerset too early, I always get the feeling of "unfinished" regarding both content and performance.
    4/10 for me.

    - Invisible walls (to much really. In one public dungeon on the way out you cant even jump over a baby fence
