I love everything else about the expansion. I have no complaints except for one. Why are the high elves of summerset practically on the verge of living in ruins? summerset is like the central core of magic, and yet, their cities are like...falling apart? Even in Alinor (the capital, right?) the bridge/road to the ROYAL palace has destroyed tiles and stuff. I find it hard to comprehend why the elves, obsessed with perfection, would settle for crumbling infrastructure and ruins littered throughout the island.

That is the only things that bugs me lol. I mean and I get it, thousands of years old and what not, but they have the magic and the resources to not live in these conditions. Idk, just started really noticing it today.

Yeah. In retrospect, I think you're onto something there.

I was looking over the crafting hall this morning wondering why the High Elves hadn't maintained the area above it at all. And, granted, thousands of years old, but, still.

Although I don't think the story lends itself to this, like the one in Orsinium, I wonder if the place gets repaired as you do the MQ.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I find the walkways and roads claustrophobically narrow. I know they're tall and thin but don't they travel in groups SOME times? What about on horseback more than 2 wide? Looks silly having all this great architecture and single file footpaths everywhere. LOL

Well you have to consider the time period. Currently all of tamriel is at war with each other. I'm sure if you visit any major cities or head to cyrodill you'll see lots of people casually slaughtering each other like it's no big deal.

Since the high elves are some of the longest living races, I believe in general most of them have experienced war and understand the scope of whats going on. Therefor many of them are at war, doing missions for the AD. Most of the resources and finances are being put towards the battles on the main land. There is currently a relatively inexperienced queen as well which must be taken into consideration. From what I've gathered story wise, I believe Summerset is simply putting it's budget towards military campaigns and fortification of the towns/cities under AD control in tamriel. Also as we all know, summerset recently opened up to traders and outsiders. Why would they take this risk? Well one big reason could be that they need more resources / money to rebuild their infrastructure. It's very likely that summerset before/after the wars will be what you'd probably expect.

The high elves understand history, government, war, etc.. they're putting their priorities first.

(I havent played through all the story yet, if theres any info that may change what I said dn't tell me lol)
