Near - are you interested in my potions and ingredients :-)
To the topic: diseases were not really a problem in Skyrim, because those could be cured by just praying at an altar of the divines. I guess, role players would like it - me too - but ESO has as well a whole lot of people, who aren't into role play and so it might be better to not implement those.

I can just imagine:
Tom's buddy, "Hey Tom, we're running Aetherium Archive, wanna join us?"
Tom, "Can't, man. I'm still on the road and it's gonna be another five days before I get to the location."
Tom's buddy, "No worries, man. Hope you don't catch any fatal illnesses on your way."
That is probably the best answer, fluff-wise.The Vestige is immune to mundane diseases as a soul shriven. (ex: walking through Obsidian Gorge while it was full of Llodos Plague) They can still become werewolves and vampires because those are also the blessing/curse of Daedric Princes.
Everyone is too healthy in ESO; both NPCs and players.
There are only three diseases in ESO that I know of: Sanies Lupinus, Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, and Llodos Plague.
Only two of those are contractible by players, and both are transmitted by direct infection through bites.
Where's the rest of the diseases, like Rockjoint and Ataxia? In Oblivion, the player could contract tons of different diseases (easily curable by a cure disease potion). Wouldn't even matter to me if it was just present in quests or in dialogue. But it's very strange to see so little disease in the past, when the future holds much of it.
Have you seen any other mentions of disease in ESO that I missed? Do you think we need more?
If anyone wants a quick look at some of the weird diseases in TES lore, give this a read: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Disease

Wow...you're just a ray of sunshine today.....
I'm actually in a great mood today, thanks for noticing! There are plenty of diseases. If you notice your status while fighting some mobs you'll notice a debuff that lasts for like 8 seconds and which has a disease's name. Rockjoint iirc can be caught from a Durzog's heavy attack. We just don't much notice because they go away a few seconds later.
The only status I notice is slow.
Slow...

Any disease we catch, lasts only for moments of debuff before it throws up its hands and gives up with our characters coldharbour-fuelled demi-daedric constitutions...
...
Although, it -would- have been nice to have disease be more of a game factor. Some minor ones that can be fixed with simple time and healing spells, like a cold you might catch it you jump into water in eastmarch, and some more serious ones that would linger and debuff people for a very long time and might require a extra-special alchemy potion to cure, which would be available at any town alchemist, or easily self-made if your character was skilled enough, but... would be vexing, and thus add a extra sense of danger when fighting plague-carrier mobs...

It being a fantasy game is irrelevant. All the other modern TES titles had far more mentions of disease and illness, not to mention actual diseases and illnesses.
Again, not looking for a full disease system in ESO, not really, it's just another annoyance in a game full of annoyances.
It would just be nice to have more mentions of it in quests and conversation, to make the world feel more like the other TES titles.
True.you do not catch a cold from jumping into cold water - a cold is a virus infection.

But you do make your body a lot more susceptible to succumbing to that by jumping into cold water and then running around with wet clothes in winter then when you keep nicely warm and packed in dry layers of clothing, riiiight?
What I was trying to say is, I would love it if there were various different ways to "catch something", other then the usual "bitten by rabid skeever during combat" thing that many games do have... no matter if running around in wet clothes after that water jump or eating the raw fish dish in that malabel tor dockside inn, getting bit by mosquitos in black marsh or visiting some brothel in wayrest...
All too true. Sadly.Having played Skyrim winter edition with frostfall hardcore mode, I know exactly how that is to fall in water and having a hard time to get a fire going to warm up, before you freeze to death. It is great for role players, but I bet a lot would hate it in ESO, because they aren't into roleplay at all.

Create a bosmer, the most skinny and smallest one and there you go: your young kid.
