Because it would be annoying asf thats why, i can BARELY stand zone chats..... every player in every instance of the game talking.... nty.... id literally leave chat off forever

There would be less zone selling with a universal AH... because everyone would have access to it, and be on equal footing. There would be no reason to sell in chat. The ones doing it now are doing it because they belong to guilds without traders, or the traders are in horrible locations, or they don't even belong to a guild. The amount of zone chat selling you see now? Direct response to the system we have in place. The amount you see is a direct representation of how many need to sell that way to get any realistic amount for real goods (motifs, etc) and cannot through the system in place.

ya but the global would get all of that, like every 5 minutes in zone there someone that just HAS to link like 10 motifs lol i can only imagine a global lol

maybe if there was just a way to mute that chat

No, but there is a way to mute individual people lol... perhaps they should implement a Sales Channel, and if you are found to be advertising outside of it (someone reports you) then you get a warning, second time is 3 day suspension, 3rd time is banned? lol I'm all for severe measures to improve QoL.

there is technically no way to mute on ps4 lol you either have to flat out block on psn or deal

O.O!!! WHAT?!? Ok... not going to PS4, that is for sure! lol I dunno, I still think that the perfect solution for the AH system issue, is to include a series of message boards or Town Criers or something, that people can talk to, to find out WHICH trader has the item you are looking for, and at what price, and if you want it, trot your happy butt out to wherever that trader is and buy it. Keeps everything the way it is, and allows for traders in better locations to still have value, but allows for other guilds to have a shot at selling to someone other than their fellow guildmates.

seems nice but again idk if pc has a way to search specific items but ps4 doesnt lol only filter based on types of items, so you would have to look thru every item of that type to find the one you want at the town board cryer of whatever for every guild trader in game

The guild traders are awful. It would be nice to see the UI get an overhaul and a public market or auction house type option be added for non-guild players to get involved. Markets thrive with more competition, no? Maybe that's what some of you are afraid of.

I won't be holding my breath for anything to change. I also won't be wasting my time on this part of the game.

its actualy combination of 1 and 2.

as well as the fact that trader bids are the most consistent gold sink that this game has.

It also limits the effect a small cadre of players can have on the market as a whole. Making it much harder to effectively corner the market on a resource, and artificially move prices.

After reading 4 pages of comments i can only say this:

We are in the 21st century gents, a global auction house with the money they make from subs and purchases they cant say technical issues, the game isnt that much populated , at the time of this post the eu server is dead, so isnt much alive aswell, hence theres not too many recurring players to "overload" a server with a little auction house.

Even saying its a "mega server" this term is wrongly understood, people come to the idea of a big giant machine super powerful. NO; its just a cluster of servers connected in different regions of the world, in this case eu. This leads to the false thinking of the "overload" problem, which in any case will never happen; remember we are talking about an auction house just holding items in real time, this happens in a huge amount of videogames since the dawn of mmo's.

The playerbase isnt that big, we have modern technology people, stop white knighting, theres no excuse for them, nothing can stop them to make a AH

    Peace

Another point of testimony that IDK will likely ignore. Just like every other testimony posted of how people are seeing the effects, and it not being healthy. Does ESO do an exit poll on people quitting? No, of course not, because there aren't subscriptions, ESO +, but, most players don't have it, and even then, are there exit polls for it? Probably not... not on Xbox at least. Wonder if they would find the trader system one of the main reasons people get tired of the game?

Although it certainly needs improvements, overall I like the guild trader system more than a central AH. Though, I'm willing to admit that I'm biased due to having access to addons that fix many guild trader issues.

If players are quitting over such an issue, good for them. I laugh at such a reason since people play games because they enjoy the game and the people they play with.

Even if some have quit the game over such a trivial issue, they clearly did not find anything in the game enjoyable and it is good for them they left. Hope they find a game they enjoy playing since that is the main reason for playing a game.

In the end, the guild trader is here to stay. Certainly not meaning any offense, but that is the way it is.

OP has not provided the real answer for us to choose from.

The answer is Zos chose to work with a guild trader system. After launch they did a major tweak to it. Since then it has been clear the current system has successfully provided ESO a vibrant and healthy economy which of course is the goal.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

I love ESO's economy and trader system. I don't want a global AH. If we had one, there would be more complaints about the issues that come with them.

Furthermore, the current trader system is as much a feature to many players as Trials or PVP are to others. Removing it would be unfair to them. Posts like this are akin to those asking for Cyrodiil to be converted to a PVE zone.

With that said, the interface needs an overhaul.

I finally understand why you keep saying that there's no worthy reason for changing the guild store system, because those people who complain this system simply is not worthy of playing this game! What an ingenious argument! ZOS really should hire you as their spokesperson.

But come on, there is no worthy reason !

My take: ZOS wanted originality and to the make the economy more advanced and groundbreaking. They improve the experience for guilds and to have guilds that totally focused on the economy aspect of the game. Many people like it, many people don't but the fact that it made it this long shows that a central auction house is just not happening in ESO ever, so its kind of past time to just let it go.

What do you think that makes ZOS have decided not to introduce a global auction house and stick to this policy?

Well in every game I've seen that has it, bots win-- and where bots win, spam wins, and where spam wins, I leave.

Im, so glad that we have not a Global AH, this is the only Reason Im trading in this Game. Do the current System needs Work? Yes, we need a open bidding process but not a Global Place. And luckily, most of new MMOs that come out right now, they dont have a Global AH. It would decrease the Economy, it would take away the random looking all over Tamriel in Hunt for a BArgain and i for one, would stop Trading

Although a global auction house is good in theory, there are just too many examples out there of it also being detrimental to the in-game economy. With a global auction house you don't have the same quality/price control as you do with spreading it out over smaller self-contained guilds.

One of the saddest examples of a global auction house is in BDO where the players have no say in how much they want to sell their items for - it is all predetermined, and has to be, in order to avoid abuse of the AH system. It is far too easy with a global auction house to undersell/undermine the market.

In a GAH there will be no mid-range - only those who try to charge high or those who try to sell low. ESO is by far one of the healthiest and most stable economies in any MMO I've personally played, so I don't see any reason to change it.

Perhapes you havent read the part where i say "at the time of this post" , i just logged off and by 2 am most of the recurrent players are sleeping/working/disconnected. I can tel that because i play till late night.

Im not googling, i hate charts and graphs, my opinion is based on: Friend list, big trading guilds, people in cyro, people in bg, people in dungeon queues, people i see in the world, at which said time is scarce.

    Peace.

A good compromise would be a built in global search function, like the Tamriel trade center website but official.
You'd still have to find and travel to the vendor.
