I know that the graphics will never be the same and im not complaining about the difference in graphics, but those red coral plants would add SO MUCH MORE character to the live coral forests if they added them to the live game.

I didn't even notice the coral plants in the cinematic. Coral forest is dead so why should there be living plants?
Yeah, i thought it was weird that they made it look so desolate. I would have liked to see colorful coral, a visually stunning landscape, instead of a wasteland.Micah_Bayer wrote: »Chilly-McFreeze wrote: »Video Gaming Rule #1: never trust a trailer.

Because plants often grow in dead things? Dead animals, and other dead plants make very good fertilizer. Coral that has been there that long, with all of those dimples and pockets on them, would likely have fertile soil on top and in the crevices. It would also act as good protection from wind and a perfect place for birds to nest (birds eat seeds, poop on coral, plants grow). So there is every reason for living plants there, really.

I loved the idea of coral forests, but once I got on to the PTS I wasn't super impressed with the results. I actually bug-reported it because the textures generally looked so low-resolution! I thought there was some loading error or something, especially compared to the textures on like the architecture and most of the furniture. Too late to fix now, but hopefully they keep that in mind for future developments. If you make some things high quality you should make everything high quality, or it just looks out of place.
