Help, stuck on quest Serpents kiss for AD

So im at the part where you have to search the boat, but when i go in the boat im unable to progress. If i turn my character any direction other than the way im standing when i come in, the whole world turns white and blue and i can see all the NPCs players running around above me, and some outlines of topography, but cant interact with anything nor finish the quest.

I'm not sure the protocol on bumping old threads, but in case this helps someone who searches for this in the future:

for whatever reason the hidden compartment at the end of the ship's interior doesn't get flagged by a quest marker, but if you go there and interact with the 'carpet' on the floor, you should be able to loot the quest objective item and it will work.
