Stamina Damage Proc Sets in Solo PvE?

I'm a solo PvE player. I don't typically do dungeons or trials, and I don't typically do PvP.

I'm wondering how useful any of the stamina sets that proc damage are. In particular I'm looking at:

Viper's Sting
Widowmaker
Plague-Slinger
Defiler
Pillar of Nirn
Unfathomable Darkness
Selene
Stormfist
Velidreth

Viper's Sting seems pretty obvious great, but I'm not sure whether I want to go with a melee build yet or not. Defiler I've heard is terrible, that it never hits and whatnot, but that might just be in PvP where players are moving like crazy anyway.

Unfathomable Darkness I'm especially curious about, since Mad Tinkerer (which also came out with CWC) is crazy fun on my magplar.

The other sets I don't know anything about their effectiveness.

Ideally I'm looking for sheer face-melting power against mobs in solo PvE, but fun factor is also great too (which obviously Mad Tinkerer has in spades)

If you want to solo anything difficult you should take a look at Bahraha's Curse.

Velidreth is excellent with big burst damage. High single target, though it can miss.
I love Stormfist on my stam sorcs, or any build where I want shock AOE.
Selene is good for single target, I found it harder to proc with my builds, so I dont use it much personally.

Pillar of Nirn is fun with high single target (possibly more but the range is small so you often only get one mob with it) , but I think Viper would be just as good if you are using melee and is easier to acquire.

I'll second Bahara's Curse as a good set if you need damage and survivability as is Briarheart if you want a set that performs similar to Hundings Rage but with some extra healing. I found Syvarra's Scales to be a decent proc set as well.

Put my vote on Bahara's as well. It is fun to use. I just switched back from a Hunding's & MA set up to Bahara's and Syvarra's just because I find them more fun to use in solo PvE. They also work well together as enemies are slowed and stuck in a poison cloud healing you while they die.

Unfathomable Darkness is funny in that usually the birds proc after a single target is dead lol. It runs for like 12 secs and has a 15 sec cool down. Just about ANYTHING procs it so it’s always up. Cheap in the guild stores. Worth giving a go for fun and testing.
