Can't fillet fish

PC, NA. On May 24 I've been having some issues with filleting fish that I've caught. For about 15 minutes I couldn't fillet, destroy or sell any fish that I had caught. The clock shadow spins around on the icon but the number of fish stays the same, and it still makes the squishy "fillet" sound. If I try to sell them I get the "donk, you can't do that" noise. I tried logging out to the character menu and back in again, was able to fillet three silverside perch before it stopped working again. I also tried quitting the game and restarting, same issue.After a while I was able to fillet newly caught fish, but I still have three in my inventory that I can't sell, destroy or fillet, but I can mark and unmark them as "junk". I was fishing in Bangkorai when this happened. I asked my guildmates about it and someone said that a friend in a trial earlier mentioned having trouble filleting their fish. This is my first time fishing since the Summerset update.

Just confirming that I and many others on PC, EU Servers also got that bug.

First time I could fix it by putting the stacks into my bank, take them out again, and then filet.
But now even that doesn't work anymore, since I cant even put the stack into my bank unless I relog. (And the same bug appears)

Already tried deactivating every single AddOn, doesn't help also.

ah wow i have the same bug and thought it was just me :'D
couldn't fix it so any help would be nice

maybe it's the same bug that prevents some (also me) from taking potions? hmm

Same bug here. Although my character just stops being able to fillet any fish. If I then reload UI or go through a wayshrine, I can fillet 5 more fish before it's stuck again. It does this with and without the Votan's Fish Fillet add-on I have.

Reported this in a ticket with a detailed explanation and the crack ESO ticket response team replied that customer support is not able to restore items that were destroyed, deconstructed or altered" Seriously, [snip] try reading the [snip] ticket!

Just to add, I also logged in on another computer and the same issue was prevalent. When the person that plays ESO on that computer relogged in, they did NOT have that issue. It is character bound.

For your information: Customer Support also refuses to restore any Gold Pieces which are missing from the Bank account or from the Bags of our characters -- even after their own investigation confirms that the Bank balance, or the amount in the character's Bags, is not correct.

Furthermore: in the course of my correspondence with ESO Support, at least one staff member has stated that they cannot report any flaw in the software design or its implementation (a "bug") to the ESO designers and programmers. Sometimes a player who posts a bug report here discloses that Customer Support instructed them to report the problem in the "forums". For some problems, such as performance issues, it should be posted in the Customer Support Forum section for the platform on which they play TESO, instead of this one -- whether the "crack ESO ticket response team" knows of or recognizes the difference. (Each of the respective forums and their sections are displayed on the page Elder Scrolls Online Forums.)

So, I seldom use the in-game Ask For Help option to contact Customer Support. The initial reply is always one that requires a response to their acknowledgement within three days, else they will close the ticket. After I respond to that, the typical reply is a boilerplate list of irrelevant hyperlinks to various FAQs and such. What transpires after I respond to the boilerplate has seldom been worth the time and effort.

The alternative, of course, is to report the problem in the Bug Reports section of the General Forum. Or to report it in the appropriate Customer Support Forum section instead.

Nonetheless, in my experience, a Feedback report submitted by using /bug or <F1> Help is received and reviewed by a member of the software maintenance and development folk. For example, several weeks ago, I reported that my player character could not obtain an Interactive Prompt in order to sit on a Redguard Flames Sofa. In the Summerset and Update 18 Patch Notes, there is a specific mention that it is now possible to sit on that piece of furniture, and I have confirmed it can be done.

It is not clear to me whether a Feedback report is ever read by the Support staff. On at least one occasion during the past three-plus years, I received a response from Support about a Feedback report which I submitted. However, that contact might have been requested by a developer(s) who reviewed the report.

I am also having this problem (PC NA~Only fished in Summerset)
I can get about 5 of each type of fish done before I have to relog or change zones. Banking them also worked temporarily. I did have a fishing addon but I disabled that and reloaded. Did not help.

Re-posting this here to make sure it gets seen (hopefully), already mentioned these points in another thread on the issue:

I am experiencing this too intermittently. Some observations:

- EU PC server
- Never seen this in the 30K plus fish I caught and filleted before Summerset release, but has been a consistent problem since.
- Up to today I could fillet my fish outside of peak hours (daytime before diner and late after midnight) but between 20:30 and midnight CET it would always lock up within 5 fish. Today is the first time I am having problems with it outside of peak hours too.
- When it locks up, you actually do receive a filleted fish, however the stack counter does NOT decrease. For example today I started with a stack of 49, it locked up on the 5th fish, I received 5 filleted fish, but the stack counter had only decreased by 4 to 45.
- I have tried this with Votan's Fish Fillet addon, without the addon just pressing the E key, and even without ANY addons installed at all, none of it makes a difference, it still locks up.
- I also tried various locations like a quiet zone or private residence, but that didn't help either.
- Once it locks up reloadui does not usually unblock it for me, logging out to character select does unblock it.
- It seems to work per fish type, if it locks on Dhufish I can move on to my Longfin stack but not fillet any Dhufish anymore. When I do try to use the Dhufish stack, the fillet anim and sound play and the rotating anim on the inventory icon plays 1 time (normally it plays 2 times, 1st one during the anim and the 2nd time when your char returns to idle position and the stack counter is decreased) but I get no fish anymore and the stack counter doesn't change.

To me it seems something goes wrong when the client communicates with the server to see if I get a Perfect Roe. I do get the fish (which doesn't require a random roll) but it seems as if the reply on whether I get a roe or not never makes it back to the client which results in the client locking up somehow.

I ended up logging out for a few hours and sending all of the fish to a friend when I came back. He was able to fillet them. Because the Votan's addon has an update, you can probably assume it's on an addon's end. I ended up fishing again and having no problems. Disable his fishing addon and give it a little bit to correct itself. The fillet addon seems to be fine for me but the other one...

It's not the addon. As I stated in my post I tested this with all my addons enabled, with specific addons disabled and with no addons at all, there is no difference and will just as well lock up when using the E key in an entirely unmodded game.

Just thought I'd mention that it started working again for me. I was able to fish again and fillet without that addon enabled. But I did log out and go to bed after disabling it. It was the only thing that I changed since logging out that night.

I think part of the problem is that the cooldown on the fish doesn't start until after the animation plays on your character, making it all too easy to disconnect.
They need to fix that and add a "fillet all" option that either does all in a stack sequentially or just instantly. Fish filleting takes waaaayyyyy too much time pressing the same damn button over and over.
