Retrieving Survey Reports: FIND A BETTER WAY, ZENI, PLEASE

To the ladies and gentlemen at Zenimax:

Your current system of finding and retrieving survey reports is a pain in the butt that wastes my precious time, Zeni. I'd rather be actually PLAYING the game, than playing hide-and-seek with your survey report locations — especially the ones in Malabal Tor, that trainwreck of a jungle mountain zone in the Aldmeri Alliance.

Seriously, Zeni. I work a full-time job and have other RL responsibilities, so when I find the time to get into ESO, I want to actually play the game, rather than mess around with survey reports. It's so bad, that I have more than 100 of the darn things stockpiled. I beg of you, @ZOS_GinaBruno, please let your team know that a better way to retrieve the survey reports would be much appreciated by me and, I suspect, a fair number of other ESO players.

I miss when surveys can be found in just orsinium at cap. I don't like that they make us teleport now

Are you on console ? They should add map marker for surveys you have in inventory like PC addons do.

In these conditions i don't mind the quick survey run (takes around one minute/survey) before my daily crafting (again, 3 min top with addons), while drinking my morning coffee.

Yeah come on Zeni, make it so we interact with the writ board and get tons of prizes. I want the rewards for doing work, without doing the work.


On a serious note, they should make surveys not bound so people can sell them to me.

You're confusing work with tedium.

No part of surveys is work. And it's supposed to be a reward for writs. What kind of reward is boredom?

Yes you get an mark on your map, ride to it and harvest, move on,
O its an addon, this one thought it was an Khajiit racial perk.

Just to be clear; You are aware that you do not HAVE to do them, right? It is voluntary.

I personally do not do them, because it is not worth my time. But writs in themselves are. I have maybe 100 total surveys stored right now. Not ever going to use them, unless i go broke.

What they should do, is making them tradeable. That would work out great for everyone.

Really? *sigh* That's sounds about as fun as, well, you know how I feel about the topic. Fortunately, there should be maps posted, along with YouTube vids, by the time Summerset releases on the consoles.

Yes, PS4 Pro to be exact. Map markers would be ideal, but I suppose the intermediary of online maps fill that void.

Yes, been playing since April 2014 (PC/Mac at first, then did the account transfer to the PS4 platform). I really do like your idea of making the surveys sellable — first ones I'd get rid of are the Malabal Tor ones, and at a discount rate.

At first they took me a while to find I'm on console no AddOns. After getting use to locations and doing thousands of them I know all the locations.

Now I wait until I have at least 10 of each kind saved up and takes me about 1 hour to get them all. I could never get that much raw mats in an hour of straight farming so IMO they are well worth it.

They are incredibly boring and very tedious. I do them maybe once a month and then have 10-20 of each type in every map and takes me 2-3~ days of playing time

I would, without blinking, pay 40K Crowns for a assistant that did it for me.

Actually, I LOVE going around for surveys and treasure maps!
They are a good reason to visit again long time unseen territories, admire forgotten landscape or remember past adventures.
And if some day I feel lazy, I just keep those in my bank for other day.

Don't change anything: surveys are funny, inmersive and rewarding.


NOTE: I also work (have two works, one as an employee, one freelance) and have family and pets.

I would, without blinking, pay 40K Crowns for a assistant that did it for me.

I wouldn't even consider spending that much real world money for an assistant. We should have the option to use our hirelings for the task.

Well I would, happily even. Because it would save me 2-3 days of doing this crap each month I could do other things that are fun
