So....has anyone actually encountered an Abyssal Pool yet?

We've all done the geysers, but the Abyssal Pools? what the hell are they and where the hell are they and what do they even look like 0.o?

Its been bugging me since early access started, I haven't seen one "abyssal pool" yet....

same....its almost like they dont exist and yet they're in the patch notes as a source of motiffs rofl

Are they not the same thing? I have done tons of geysers and haven't found a single motif page (Psijic Skill Line maxed out). Maybe I should look for the pools?

The Pools are supposed to be seperate from the geysers and they are not for the same thing so we should look for these pools yes!

Im like......what are they....where are they and wtf do they look like....seriously ive been looking since the patch came out...oh and for point of referance heres where its stated in the patch notes;

"New Motifs
There are four new Motifs coming for crafters with Update 18: Psijic, Sapiarch, Fang Lair and Scalecaller.
The Psijic Motif chapters (or very rarely, the full book) will come from adventuring around Summerset.
Activities that may reward a Psijic Motif chapter are, in order of most to least likely:

Completing Abyssal Geysers
Killing World Bosses
Completing Abyssal Pools
Treasure Chests (with higher-difficulty locks being more likely, and easier locks being less likely)
Killing Delve bosses
Killing monsters"

Does any mod have any information on it?

Every bit of that list has a description except abyssal pools and so Idk what they look like or what im looking for.

Are they maybe these things I sometimes come across on the beach (sorry for dark picture). They are pools of water that sparkle for a second then spawn one of those new lurchy monsters plus a bunch of its larva. I've never gotten anything but regular loot of them though, so probably not.

I'm assuming @Anadandy is right. I've found a bunch of little tiny geysers around the coast, kind of like the mini dolmens in the rest of tamriel. I think they are likely the abyssal pools. One semi-hard boss and 3-4 little guys pop up, they give you loot at the end.

I suspect they're the analog to the daedra that pop up in base zones at set locations when you are nearby.

It's a glowing ball of light.
I have found 2 so far. In base game areas.
Nothing to fight. You just walk up to it & take your stuff.
Nothing fancy found in them yet.

Yes I do believe it is those.

If you go to Summerset on this map esomap.uesp.net/ then zoom in a little bit and search the map you can find several ''?'' being called world event. I think that's the thing.

ahhh cool! thanks guys!

This helps a lot - I was so confused as these pools apparently just were nowhere to be found I think I was expecting a visual indicator on the map or something rather than random mini event spawns
