Combat Damage Numbers (Colors) What do they mean

Ok so I am trying to figure out the difference in the damage numbers on my screen. Some are white, some are light yellow, and some are orange. I suppose that the white numbers are normal damage. What are the light yellow and orange numbers though?

White: direct damage.
Orange: damage over time.
Yellow: critical damage.

I thought critical damage just had an exclamation point at the end of the number.

They do, which is how Damage Over Time Criticals appear (Orange + Critical exclemation)

But DD also has the Yellow Variant.

Both, I think. Critical damage is yellow with an exclamation mark.

Thanks, I tried searching for the answer before posting here, but I could not find anything, I guess my choice in keywords was poor.
