Magsorc sets for Summerset

With the nerf to Mechanical Acuity, what sets are good to pair for a sorc (both non-pet and pet)? I know that Siroria is the go to set to get but I plan on using my moondancer or IA until I farm it. I'm stuck between Julianos, Mother's Sorrow, BSW, or Necro (if I go pet) as which will best pair with it.

Also, is perfect asylum still highly recommended for non-pet sorcs? I am wanting to go to non-pet but I do not have a perfect staff. However, is it worth sacrificing a monster set (Illambris or Zaan) or a 4 and 5 piece bonus set for slotting that staff? (this is assuming a vma staff is being used)

Don't quote me on it, but imbue weapons may be a suitable replacement for an asylum staff and force pulse freeing up a 5 5 2 setup while still maintaining a vMa back bar.

I know you said not to quote you but...

At first I was confused because imbue weapons is the stam version and I'm guessing you're talking about the mag version. Looking at it I think you may be right since it appears to do a lot of damage with a lower cost than 2 force pulses.

I'm on console so I can't confirm this so if anyone on pc can test this out I'd appreciate it .

Honestly you're not wrong. Julianos has always remained consistantly competitive for mag dps throughout patches that it may be my choice. I'm surprised that I still haven't golded it yet...

Yeah I'm on console too idk the name is it elemental weapons? But it gives a status effect (burning, concussed, or chilled) every cast and it launches the psjic orb every 5 casts, frees up 2 item slots and is cheaper than force pulse. Think it's the go to in summerset, at least on paper. P2W comes to mind, but I support ESO when I can because I think it is a great game. It's just a skill line shouldn't be locked behind a pay wall in my opinion.

Definitely worth golding. It’s one of those sets you’ll never not either use consistently or at least go back to it.

Not an expert by any means, but been having fun with Mantle of Siroria + BSW + Ilambris and VMA staff (I know its not BIS, but just trying things out from Netch + Julianos I was running (with VMA + Willpower staff for two piece bonus) Can farm Mantle of Siroria in a day or two with a few runs and offering some gold.

Run Heavy and Medium Ilambris. Run Mantle of Siroria cloths and jewelry is BSW. Front Staff BSW and back staff vMA inferno. The fact BSW procs every so often means you don't need to keep it up all the time, hence moving to back bar means only losing the critical but in turn running a monster set.

With that said if I had a perfect Asylum staff, would probably run Mantle of Siroria + Julianos / Netch and VMA + Asylum staff.

Yep exactly this.

Probably the best setup that doesn't include an asylum staff perfected is

5 BSW front bar (inferno and jewellry), siroria body, vma backbar, llambris.

For pet sorc I might try out a build with necro, destruction mastery front bar (jewellry and lightning staff), vma lightning backbar, llambris.

I reckon I'd have a good Max magicka pool and I think heavy attacks are scaling better of magicka now so worth a shot.

+1 to lazy Necro+Destro combo. Spam fami pulse, prey, blockade, liquid and atro. Ezpz 30k+ DPS.

Yeah, I bought a destro mastery set for cheap (try buying it now ) a few weeks ago figuring something like this would happen. Gonna combine with 5x necro and 2x Ilambris when it hits consoles

IA+Necro+Ilambris (vMA backbar) with mage mundus for build with 1 pet.

Is really nice if you are the only one in the group providing minor vulnerability. I get 38-39k DPS at 600 CP.

Also the IA staff looks super cool with 5th set bonus activated
