✭✭✭✭One thing I can say about progressing vMoL on any character is to do the difficult modes in all 3 Craglorn ones and most veteran DLC dungeons first to ensure you have learned your role sufficiently well. Also Templar is by far the worst class to tank on, and I still don't get it why so many people pick it for that role. You'll need some gear sets to compensate for the lack of sustain, and also to pull.
