Massive AP gains in Cyrodill?

My friends have reported gaining massive AP after killing multiple players by themselves while defending keeps. For instance, this one friend included a picture of him gaining 85k defensive AP tick for killing 9 players by himself. Another reported an 11k AP gain for defending a resource from 1 enemy player. Is this a bug @ZOS_GinaBruno? I don't want to step foot into cyrodill until someone can confirm what's going on.

Inb4 your friends get banned for exploiting something Zos broke. It don't pay to play on patch day.

Seriously! Note to self - don’t PvP in cyrodil unless you want to get banned lol

Played three hours today (PC NA) and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. My usual AP gain.
