However, I am with you. I'd rather be able to hide the enchantment, or pick the effect as part of the Outfit system, like it is in other MMOs.

Though personally I liked the (bugged) version pre-Summerset where Outfits would hide weapon enchantments 100% of the time, the way the patch notes are worded suggest that they should now display as enchantments have since the game launched; visible when drawn, not visible when sheathed.
Having weapons glowing constantly takes away significantly from my aesthetic enjoyment of the game. The colours clash with my Outfit dyes and unfortunately distract me from all the other pretty stuff to look at, since I'm always staring at the back of my character. I'm not sure which is more annoying; the big, long orange glow on my main's destro staff, or the Christmas green-and-red glows on my alt's daggers.
My absolute ideal would be to revert to pre-Summerset and have enchantments hidden all the time (or an option to hide them). Barring that, I would at the very least like the Outfit weapons to function like the "base gear" and only show the enchantments when drawn.
Pretty please.
So if I wear my normal gear, it will not show the enchant mesh right?
I surely hope it's a bug, as they just don't look good. If the quality of the enchants was of higher quality I probably wouldn't mind as much. I can totally understand why people would want to turn this off. I definitely prefer the way this worked prior to update 18.
