Please, it really is annoying to search for deconstructable jewelry and having to keep looking at that message "Cannot decon this" all the time.

I guess they didn't want people to level 50 the skill on the first day, shame on them to be fair as it's made me give up hope ever getting a decent game without having to grind like it's some sort of day job.
I've cancelled my ESO+ too, sorry but MMO shouldn't be a full time job.

And yes, this is far and away the grindiest patch to date.

While I can understand your plight, I highly doubt they'll allow this..
It was made like this so everyone starts on equal footing, wich is commendable. I, too, have kept a stash of jewels, and ended selling them all when I learned this.
Sell yours, and appreciate the justice behind this rule.
How bout letting us decon them for mats only, no xp. Hmm? I haven’t logged in to check out what the tooltip says, but my OCD hates having such silly distinctions sitting in my inventory. It would be like leaving all the gear from imp city with a tool tip that said vr16. Maybe in time I’ll learn to love the “Old School” factor of my “original” jewelry; as it stands I’m pretty disappointed. At least I can unlock it in my inventory and not worry about accidentally mashing it to grains.

They literally say "Cannot be deconstructed" for every single piece of old jewelry

Yes, this is far more of a grind than when they first introduced CP, and there was no cap, so everyone was racing to reach CR3600... that was far less of a grind than jewelry crafting. /s
