Psjic grind a bit overkill

just saying, i cant believe there is anyone alive on this planet that actually wants to spend 5 hours on each char to grind it.
make it boostable or something or give a boost for doing normal dolmens or anything else then this portal hunting.

imagine a new player without wayshrines, it will take them like 10 hours do finish the skill line grind
not to mention to get the skilline you also have to do a questline that takes around 45mins

New player advice: Join a guild. Open the roster. Travel to Player. Also, feed your horse.

Experienced Player Advice: Just pretend you are doing a ton of crafting surveys.

Its basically a gigantic scavenger hunt.

It's not like wayshrines are difficult to unlock.

It's not like people don't unlock wayshrines to acquire skyshards and lorebooks anyway.

If it's truly 5 hours to max, that's really not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

People were saying this left and right in the PTS forum and they didn't adjust it then, so all I know to say is good luck with getting them to change it now.

Well it's a good thing on all new characters I create I first go through every zone and unlock all the wayshrines while collecting Lorebooks and Skyshards.

5 hour grind to level a skill line seems pretty good compared to the time it takes to level pretty much any other guild's skill lines.
I'm just happy it's not another Undaunted grind.

right? I mean shoot, Mages guild takes a lot longer than 5 hours to max out. Ill take the 5 hours any day.

5 hours haha. That is nothing, im playing a game right now with at least 50 hours just on one skill. I cant believe you are even moaning about 5 hours.

Between the new skill line and JC, this is by far the grindiest patch to date. It is what it is, I guess.

5 hours aint bad, but it is a bit annoying that I will probably have to do it about 10 times at least.

I finally leveled up and was able to morph my resto ultimate yesterday. 5 hours doesn't seem so bad

I've got characters from console launch that still don't have mages/fighters/undaunted/alliance war skills maxed.

5h first time. Running it on alts will go much faster. Figure you could probably knock it out in 90m to 2h. It, might, be possible to speed run it in under an hour, but at that point, load screens start to become a factor.

Totally. How dare the devs expect its players to actually play the game for a few hours and get a neat reward for doing so. I would much prefer to log in, never play, and be given everything.

As someone who rarely quests for the sake of questing, ( I do trials and dungeons but other than that I don't PVE much), I just wanted to be able to do those portals to get the infused stuff for research as I'll need it for PVP.
After seeing that treasure map for the portals you need to close before you can get the skill line to do the damn portals that drop the infused trait stuff I just felt like vommiting, srsly. Why are you making me do disgusting PVE?

To me it's not about difficulty or the amount of time required to gain levels. It's the way we rank up in the skill line. Running all over the world and that for an order which supposedly keeps to itself. There is no challenge to it, just tedium. And I for one love exploring the world, but when you're sent to specific spots to gather specific items, it's hardly exploration, is it? It's a chore.

Sorry, they missed the ball on the expansion as far as I'm concerned. It'll probably get better, but for now it's all running, talking, collecting and a little bit of combat on the side. Not my idea of fun times. I've been running for about an hour now on the main quest and all I got is a silly sash and a very very very bad xp/min ratio.

I was leveling the new skill-line till level 3 but that was already so extremely boring that i had to stop or i would have fallen asleep.

This is a perfect example of why I hate questing in esopve, you come to the location of what or who youre gonna confront, and what meets you is an ocean of pugs waiting for this one npc to spawn so they can kill it for the quest, it becomes a competition of who can manage to hit it enough to get recognition so you can advance your quest, those that fail will have to wait another 5minutes so they can get another try at it. Yay immersion.

The little I've done of it / seen in guides, it looks boring af. Completely, utterly lame and repetitive. With basically no content. Idk, I honestly like questing. But the quests have to have some kind of essence to it. These quests don't.

I think the frustration is that it's all you're doing for those 5 hours. But it's probably the second fastest to level skill line in the whole game after WW, short of spending a bunch of gold to grind crafting.

For comparison, leveling Undaunted took me months on one character, like an hour a day of normal dungeon runs. There aren't even any skills I wanted out of it, just the Mettle bonus. But I did get keys too.

Doing It for the first time may be fun, or may be perceived legit at least. Having to do the same process for 10 alts it's just boring as hell. I do not want instant leveling on my first char. I Just would like to avoid this boring and pointless grind on every alt.

I could care less about the time it takes to complete. What drives me crazy is what crap they threw together to call a quest line. I don't know if I would rather cut my ears off, gouge my eyes out or do both and then jump off a bridge. This is probably the worst quest line I have seen. Could it be more mundane and boring please!!!
